Lots and lots of g_dev_taste: make_dev_p() failed (gp->name=3Dzvol/storage/backup/ahostnamehere/some-guid-disk1@zfs-auto-snap= :daily-2016-11-22-00:00, error=3D63) It seems there is a 63 character limit in place here (judging from various = post in mailing-lists). I booted with the 11.0 install CD and tried to mount the zpool with that (LiveCD mode) - it showed the same error messages. I'm updating it to 10.3 at the moment, for the sake of having it on a suppo= rted release. Is there any fix for this? We're not really in a position to rename the snapshots on the source-system. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org Mon Dec 5 16:53:11 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-amd64@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 819D0C68F36 for ; Mon, 5 Dec 2016 16:53:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 63DAB18A for ; Mon, 5 Dec 2016 16:53:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id uB5GrBb5044802 for ; Mon, 5 Dec 2016 16:53:11 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 215074] [ath] [panic] (Qualcomm AR9227) nightly panic during periodic runs Date: Mon, 05 Dec 2016 16:53:11 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: CC X-Bugzilla-Type: new X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: wireless X-Bugzilla-Version: 11.0-STABLE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: c.kworr@gmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-wireless@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: bug_id short_desc product version rep_platform op_sys bug_status bug_severity priority component assigned_to reporter cc Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.23 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the AMD64 platform List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 05 Dec 2016 16:53:11 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D215074 Bug ID: 215074 Summary: [ath] [panic] (Qualcomm AR9227) nightly panic during periodic runs Product: Base System Version: 11.0-STABLE Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: wireless Assignee: freebsd-wireless@FreeBSD.org Reporter: c.kworr@gmail.com CC: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org CC: freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.org Hi all. This has the eff= ect of Windows desktops only seeing 1/2 vCPUs instead of the configured numbers. I have discovered this bug on OpenBSD when updating our driver so there's a chance that this is not an issue on FreeBSD (I haven't tested), so you may consider this just a heads up. I'm attaching the fix that makes it operational on OpenBSD. This chunk is based on the similar one for 82599. Setting PHY type to "ixgbe_phy_none" will come in handy during "ifconfig up" since ixgbe_init[_locked] will re-do the PHY/SFP initialization if the PHY type has been previously set to "none". Querying the acpi related sysctls locked up / deadlocked for me, and backporting the 20161117 ACPICA fixed the issue for me, but introduced a new one (probably the one what you mentioned). The problem is that FreeBSD does not support 32-bit EFI and the new mixed E= FI / BIOS image confuses the Apple boot process and it ends up offering a choice between the boot types, but the chooser feature appears to be incomplete in Apple's implementation (a screen with "Choose boot type.. and choices 1. and 2., neither which can be selected). I built a new release CD without the EFI parts by basically commenting out = the EFI creation bits in amd64/mkisoimages.sh script and following the example release build process from man release 7. The resulting bios-only amd64 boot image can be booted on the macpro, but it gets stuck at "Trying to mount ro= ot from cd9660...". Again, the 10.3 images work.=20 Apparently, something has changed in FreeBSD 11 that causes it not to find = the root fs from the CD. The gu= ide has you set up two files /usr/local/etc/racoon/racoon.conf and /usr/local/etc/setkey.conf. The first defines the tunnel settings and second sets up the SDP (Security Policy Database). The first thing I noticed was t= here was no explanation on setting up the preshare key file (psk.txt). This was located in the man page for racoon.conf. However after verifying all the settings were correct I tested my tunnel and I kept running into this error ERROR: no policy found: 192.168.254.0/24[0] 10.134.0.0/16[0] proto=3Dany d= ir=3Din I finally figured out that the error was saying there was no policy defined= in the database. I set it in setkey.conf but it was never loaded. I looked in = the man page for setkey and then ran the command 'setkey -v -f /usr/local/etc/racoon/setkey.conf'.
