It is intentional and unlikely to change since the parser used is shared with a number of other utilities. The behavior in this regard is described better in more recent versions of the OpenBSD manpage, for example this commit is one of several: http://cvsweb.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/share/man/man5/pf.conf.5#rev1.= 495 I'll change the metadata on this ticket to suggest it is a Doc issue. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-pf@freebsd.org Sat Jan 16 15:49:12 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-pf@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A0021A85AA6 for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 15:49:12 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 909E81A40 for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 15:49:12 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id u0GFnCe9020534 for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 15:49:12 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-pf@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 182819] pfctl(8) interprets "# .... \" as multi-line comment Date: Sat, 16 Jan 2016 15:49:12 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Documentation X-Bugzilla-Component: Documentation X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: mcdouga9@egr.msu.edu X-Bugzilla-Status: In Progress X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: Normal X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-pf@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: component product version Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-pf@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.20 Precedence: list List-Id: "Technical discussion and general questions about packet filter \(pf\)" List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 16 Jan 2016 15:49:12 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D182819 mcdouga9@egr.msu.edu changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Component|bin |Documentation Product|Base System |Documentation Version|9.1-STABLE |Latest --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-pf@freebsd.org Sat Jan 16 19:47:18 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-pf@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3EB2EA84A8F for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 19:47:18 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from yavuz.maslak@netiletisim.net) Received: from mail.netiletisim.net (mail.netiletisim.net [31.145.80.3]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id F2AE21245 for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 19:47:17 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from yavuz.maslak@netiletisim.net) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mail.netiletisim.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 07CCC120403 for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 21:38:08 +0200 (EET) Received: from mail.netiletisim.net ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (mail.netiletisim.net [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10032) with ESMTP id t2OSIw_eVoVl for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 21:38:07 +0200 (EET) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mail.netiletisim.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id C7FF31207BC for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 21:38:07 +0200 (EET) X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at netiletisim.net Received: from mail.netiletisim.net ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (mail.netiletisim.net [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10026) with ESMTP id 9gD4kqEJHDAP for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 21:38:07 +0200 (EET) Received: from net775 (unknown [213.74.60.1]) by mail.netiletisim.net (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 9D0C3120403 for ; Sat, 16 Jan 2016 21:38:07 +0200 (EET) From: =?iso-8859-9?Q?Yavuz_Ma=FElak?= To: Subject: how limit usage of traffic for each ip in a table ?
