hiya,
Here's my first cut at teaching the software scan about full offload firmware.
https://reviews.freebsd.org/D8262
This:
* adds a flag to say "full offload!"
* disables sending probe requests - firmware can do that
* disables doing powersave management - again, firmware can do that.
This is intended for the intel (wpi, iwn, iwm) firmware that can do
it. And definitely for the upcoming ath10k driver I'm porting.
Thanks!

Hi, I'm trying to configure an ATH3980 as a wireless access point.
I would like it to operate in N-only mode, but for some reason I can only
make it work with GN.
Any advice as to how I can make this work would be very helpful.
Thank You
Benjamin Sauerhaft Coplon

pure-n ; HT-greenfield mode.
Ie, there's no 11bg interop, everythingo n the channel is 11n, so the
PPDU doesn't include the legacy pieces before the HT pieces. Thus the
packet timing is slightly shorter.
I think though that the savings gained isn't all that much. I'd prefer
that we had a cleaner way to configure disabling say, 11b only clients
from associating, or easier ways of setting the lowest basic rate(s)
to use.

Summary: WIFI connection is lost periodically on ath0
Product: Base System
Version: 11.0-STABLE
Hardware: amd64
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Some People

Hello.
Every several hours my wifi connection is lost. Removing tunnings from
sysctl.conf, tuning different setings on wifi router (disabling MAC Filteri=

chnging Beacon Interval/DTIM Interval/DHCP Address Lease Time/Group Key Upd=

Period) didn't help.
When connection is lost ifconfig shows nothing special, status stays
'associated'.
pinging shows following:

it restores by running /etc/rc.d/netif restart.

hi
what's logged in dmesg?
Can you compile with ATH_DEBUG, AH_DEBUG, ATH_DIAGAPI, and IEEE80211_DEBUG ?
There's likely some debugging we can turn on to figure out why traffic is
hanging. (My guess it's encryption - but let's first compile in with the
above.)
THen when its' done, do this:
wlandebug +assoc +state +auth +crypto
and then capture what's logged in dmesg when it stops working.

Hi Adrian.
Now there's nothing more than this:

as soon as I have the required info.
Thanx,

For some reason resume worked fine and I couldn't capture dmesg, however, I
didn't have Wi-Fi straight after the next reboot. dmesg output attached.
