I am trying to configure my FreeBSD 10.3 and/or 11 beta3 to work with a 3M touchscreen monitor. it has a serial port interface for the touch part. I am trying to make the configuration for the mutouch driver (I am not sure if it is the right driver) I found very limited information about it, I installed the package and tried to configure the Xorg.conf file but so far I cannot make it work. I am wondering if you have a sample Xorg file with the mutouch section configured so I can test it , or if anyone has configured a similar monitor in the past? I hope you can help me Thanks in advance for your collaboration Regards Walther walther@rodconit.com From owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Wed Aug 3 18:59:38 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 88DC4BAED22 for ; So I installed TrueOS on my machine and I can't get it to work. It seems that it can't find something related to the DRM driver, either that or it doesn't see anything at the pci bridge. I wonder if it's firmware that it's trying to find, or if it's not seeing the card because of a lack of firmware. I know the linux kernel requires some proprietary firmware to get it working, I don't know if that firmware is also part of the drm driver or comes with TrueOS's kernel. The vesa drivers work, but the resolution isn't good and I'm on 2 monitors. I pasted Xorg's logs here: https://paste.teknik.io/Simple/02gJt and xorg config (I had it generated) here: https://paste.teknik.io/Simple/nDXpm I'm not sure if the FreeBSD mailing lists are the best place to ask about TrueOS but I really would appreciate your help here. Thank you very much! Thank you very much! you might want to check out this branch that is actively working on integrating the linux-4.6 DRM code in 11 and CURRENT: https://github.com/FreeBSDDesktop/freebsd-base-graphics There is a wiki that offers some pointers on getting started. I am personally running this code on skylake and haswell intel GPU's. There has also been a bit of work on AMD GPU's but I am unsure of the current state of that work. Hope this helps! -pete -- Pete Wright pete@nomadlogic.org From owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Fri Aug 5 06:38:04 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A4C52BAF5D3 for ; Fri, 5 Aug 2016 06:38:04 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mgamsjager@gmail.com) Received: from mail-io0-x236.google.com (mail-io0-x236.google.com [IPv6:2607:f8b0:4001:c06::236]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "Google Internet Authority G2" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 6CB0C13D9 for ; Fri, 5 Aug 2016 06:38:04 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mgamsjager@gmail.com) Received: by mail-io0-x236.google.com with SMTP id m101so291645843ioi.2 for ; Thu, 04 Aug 2016 23:38:04 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20120113; h=mime-version:from:date:message-id:subject:cc; bh=4KCqR8BE7deZXw6cU51z7nLy+YDNmOrNS2KQOwkB/xI=; b=Oxu3RSaulht8tUjsUv/QFmxGZ8onm/2aG9i+OALzpt6ZXpTCd8+KMflmcXja8NkuS7 slbvR8+yZ0wYnK8e3VHR71W6upnMjsNGSLonXfFQyF1nrA/+5KU0qXrJbPBXWUXSNe5Q eQ3guFum4ULBM+kcLu3skC48mm7gcrvMs5FoyfbeR2kle9g/RvyimkVCvzF2lNqclmyC 8YR8lQMRGfGjyhxEKCajhuqQYi5W3HzJ42tP9T4OihMfEgaFO+rjFmPzNUfhrZwLv3hX vZTSnnoicwhie20oW+PCAlVoSuGtuI5B99Jk59XMiuoW77q+fD19W04lhXTtHOdy/mvG 9azg== X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20130820; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:from:date:message-id:subject:cc; bh=4KCqR8BE7deZXw6cU51z7nLy+YDNmOrNS2KQOwkB/xI=; b=U8QnvCXLXsEjv4QxaLwUd2m0B5fSzmvnUrbCpGw2GzbDwt+vGbAE7BvE2TVoQRH4/f XcY3P1DNdRGGbcM7WgU1ErvR/jhsnPUZaIgtOuQjspsLeNwjzSWhhRlUelhwKNoF6Yd1 fwdkJ1tI0TVnYPzHwMw6vSPZD05Nhdx8KkDgYfuRcIPxeRgnsPdQBjEEYb8fTbVoQbfE jyADYU4xAygbR2r+fXEoMo5+tVER/05kgNUHH+YM2dBHREzmSBEJ4jVwlGzpXUc3ZEXF 0v//nKYkU4hikfvIDsZfFssmApB+Wqpsn6huUR4JLP9jzyJfqxm2/Fq5ETCljc4DIhfT zkOA== X-Gm-Message-State: AEkooutCAEnyDM/v3ojJX0o5Qjm38FsWVRm/ULZjv06LnPjGVvXT6cLgkPvH820mQ49MfAo91qiZ4rNSWMI0Fg== X-Received: by 10.107.160.207 with SMTP id j198mr4552314ioe.70.1470379083621; Thu, 04 Aug 2016 23:38:03 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: by 10.64.63.197 with HTTP; Thu, 4 Aug 2016 23:37:33 -0700 (PDT) From: Matthias Gamsjager Date: Fri, 5 Aug 2016 08:37:33 +0200 Message-ID: Subject: Radeon driver sync with linux Cc: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.22 X-BeenThere: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.22 Precedence: list List-Id: X11 on FreeBSD -- maintaining and support List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 05 Aug 2016 06:38:04 -0000 Hello, Currently the Intel driver is being updated.
