Therefore, we let the Ports system to extract the bootstrap cargo (it was done by the Cargo build system before) and set a configure flag to point to it. We need to set OPENSSL_DIR as a Make environment variable because the openssl-sys crate's build.rs doesn't know about FreeBSD. Finally, enable devel/cargo on i386. A bootstrap cargo executable is available for FreeBSD/i386 since last October but I missed it. We can now use it to build a port/package for i386. It also better integra= tes with common desktop environments (GNOME, KDE, etc.). To not blow up the dependencies for package-only users by default pulseaudio is only required during build. If you don't like this just uncheck the option when building locally or add OPTIONS_UNSET +=3D PULSEAUDIO to /etc/make.conf. ALSA on FreeBSD state: OSS plugin is unmaintained upstream, lacks devices enumeration, no MIDI, many -utils are broken, high CPU usage in Firefox with BUFSZ_P2 hack disabled. What else can you expect from non-native audio syst= em? PulseAudio isn't as bad but has issues of its own e.g., bug 211684. OSS in libcubeb exists as files/patch-bug1021761. It's always enabled but cannot be exclusive due to lack of WebRTC backend. Building WebRTC without audio backend is currently broken. Before libcubeb came to be there was libsydneyaudio which had OSS support but suffered from very poor latency and sometimes crashed. In short, what are you trying to solve by disabling PULSEAUDIO option by default? To fix this, keep the parent directory (a date) in the DISTFILE name. Also, depending on the value of DEFAULT_VERSION=3Dssl=3D and whether Open= SSL from ports is installed, the openssl-sys crate could fail to build. Passing OpenSSL location to make was way too complicated anyway. So simplify it and use ${OPENSSLBASE}. This was reported in PR 216385. Bump PORTREVISION to 1. The patches don't change anything related to volume. You might be interested in this thread on openbsd-ports: https://marc.info/?l=3Dopenbsd-ports&m=3D146747100730968&w=3D1 (In reply to Sergey from comment #1) > Sometimes (not very often) frequent click and snaps are heard but > pausing/resuming the video or dragging the handle removes > them. Restarting the sndiod service also removes them and sound > becomes clear. This is really a separate issue to the one you opened this bug for, but it doesn't matter :) Does it happen with www/firefox or other sndio clients also? Try playing a video file with multimedia/mpv with SNDIO=3Don (`mpv -ao sndio video.mp4`) and check if video and audio get out of sync. mpv is the most pedantic sndio client I know of. If other apps are affected as well that might be a problem with sndio, snd_emu10k1(4), or the interaction of both. If sndio is not getting an accurate playback position from the device then this can lead to the problems you describe. Please run sndiod in the foreground with `env SNDIO_DEBUG=3D1 sndiod -dd -m play -f rsnd/0` as your regular user. You should a message when Firefox or mpv connects to it. If you don't see any error message when the snaps start, try increasing the debug level to 3 or 4. Upload the log to some pastebin service and post the URL here. To get a log file it's probably easiest to do it in a script(1) session. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-gecko@freebsd.org Thu Jan 26 08:59:55 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-gecko@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 02FE0CC0842 for ; Thu, 26 Jan 2017 08:59:55 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (mailman.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::50:5]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DFD907B5 for ; Thu, 26 Jan 2017 08:59:54 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id DC7DACC083D; Thu, 26 Jan 2017 08:59:54 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: gecko@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DA81CCC083C for ; Thu, 26 Jan 2017 08:59:54 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id C99AA7B4 for ; Thu, 26 Jan 2017 08:59:54 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id v0Q8xsZ1067395 for ; Thu, 26 Jan 2017 08:59:54 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: gecko@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 216143] lang/rust, devel/cargo: generate bootstraps for Tier2 architectures via cross-compilation Date: Thu, 26 Jan 2017 08:59:54 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: dogfood, needs-patch X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: dumbbell@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: In Progress X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback?
