It'd be nice to see their benchmarks run linux binaries on freebsd. The last time I dug into this I found it was 95% due to memory layout and 5% due to ULE being silly. -adrian From owner-freebsd-performance@freebsd.org Mon Oct 23 22:10:32 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-performance@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DE33EE564FC for ; Mon, 23 Oct 2017 22:10:32 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from adrian.chadd@gmail.com) Received: from mail-wm0-x22f.google.com (mail-wm0-x22f.google.com [IPv6:2a00:1450:400c:c09::22f]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "Google Internet Authority G2" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 6AF7521FB; Mon, 23 Oct 2017 22:10:32 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from adrian.chadd@gmail.com) Received: by mail-wm0-x22f.google.com with SMTP id u138so12562210wmu.4; Mon, 23 Oct 2017 15:10:32 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20161025; h=mime-version:in-reply-to:references:from:date:message-id:subject:to :cc; bh=NkmCgrnd/s3bSZWyXGlFKELkOnkYpasQQgdeULqVXhc=; b=QKbnzSx47svoT7LAmbAPk+FxnOsZqOFHA62hLj3oCTJiarp8UT8qr2a98E7LFvFk1X xTHnXTfxjBXi46n8vdEgiWnykxN8RYc+iZXsaC+99ojGscRO5S6laf7O86r2L+ub1lot +NJdyFx3m10OFRtLE8Ul2hq8zBdXJJpDxbPX7I4HGyXBkHN1x7CJq4ndCdnAoz8jakYs mD401PGLlmjXm/e3q3tYTujrUMmMOleKy8xgOyKEtdNmti/CH/WnvtgQd9JHLZU2d7fr 8lloWPl8Zel7CkNBaUlWMLcMJk8vnfI3ObgnGH5BT4AFNj9b1FhOFB/Nx9LGolTaY0db EVtQ== X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:in-reply-to:references:from:date :message-id:subject:to:cc; bh=NkmCgrnd/s3bSZWyXGlFKELkOnkYpasQQgdeULqVXhc=; b=BB8a3EJ9+td1AvHtT5lClbbQUrSI9AsP4b6y7JtDhGLynVNLkiBpWwuWqlJc7TuBFE /MggXPFNkix0s6auJ+lxwlWvHVyatGiYlO2swZdxFq09IhGQTK9I9Hr24M+nrBwv/XJT AKWqbOQiSQdazULNJ7jMlSERiwJnf65PKig6Mnr368++0DeoQNoyXr9FR41MnRPy/cOF dGoEUW1H6FLrtRo9GNYyUJ4U1JcWAJxVPCTIWwvEQSvaKSbF0nx+m5fE2phyOF7f1gnz Fdul1C1A1Csoqa11eAflYlCPcQSU6LUlLPCypbQ06DHSP0t7DUTMxon4YW9tQpsEibPd 1mNw== X-Gm-Message-State: AMCzsaUwq3D5RNlP7fW2tmQYH2uxGXcUh6xTlkCWNx63G9syN7J4zIl2 +e/yR+mNvKuvf8yEqQwTsLPp+i8tFttBoUMfNkrLiKrR X-Google-Smtp-Source: ABhQp+SjtEf7qrSql5dq1K6Gzhczzie6FVj6nmaZeb2/n3pFtZ3lM3GRlTRksXWX28jSDCZ/wj6IR3lCuBfiMgrA7XQ= X-Received: by 10.28.31.76 with SMTP id f73mr6893617wmf.139.1508796630477; Mon, 23 Oct 2017 15:10:30 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: by 10.28.86.70 with HTTP; Mon, 23 Oct 2017 15:10:29 -0700 (PDT) In-Reply-To: References: <43eb65d2-ffed-8216-17f8-7936932e5e0a@freebsd.org> <20171009120224.3f2ca1e6@thor.intern.walstatt.dynvpn.de> From: Adrian Chadd Date: Mon, 23 Oct 2017 15:10:29 -0700 Message-ID: Subject: Re: Xeon Gold 6138's Running FBSD 11.1 and TrueOS Stable [GCC 5.4] To: "O.
