For some reason, the OS runs very slowly and it gives me those errors all the time: max66900: iicbus read failed max66901: iicbus read failed iichb0: I2C error ds16310: iicbus read failed ds16310: ds1631 read config failed: ffffffff ds16310: iicbus read failed ds16310: ds1631 read TEMP failed: ffffffff ds17750: iicbus read failed And the fan keeps running at max speed. Also, there's another weird issue: If I disable SMP, all USB peripherals (except the included Apple A1048 keyboard and the flash drive I'm using to boot) won't work at all. On the other hand, if I enable SMP, all USB peripherals will work fine, but I get the random hangs, similar to the ones reported by other G5 users. Any workarounds for those issues? I tried 12.0-RC3 on my G5 (7,2 dual core) and saw some i2c errors but my = fans worked correctly. I then tried Ubuntu 16.04 LTS without any trouble and the latest Gentoo = and initially my kernel didn=E2=80=99t have windfarm support but after = adding it, the fans are working correctly with Gentoo as well. I had trouble with FreeBSD 12.0-RC3 USB ports when I plugged in the = Apple 23=E2=80=9D Cinema Display USB hub with the keyboard attached. The = keyboard wouldn=E2=80=99t work. But when I plugged an Apple USB keyboard = directly into one of the PowerMac rear USB ports, I didn=E2=80=99t have = any trouble. Also if I plug in other external drives (besides the one I'm booting from), it doesn't seem to be detected too. I plan to eventually run X on this machine, so issues like that is somewhat important for me.
