I've been using gphoto (and gtkam) in the past with PTP-compatible cameras, but I didn't expect the iPad to be compatible to such an "old" standard. This tool is on my list to try next week. However, what is the difference between an unlocked iOS device and a locked one? I thought there is only one state - locked... (but I'm not an iPerson, so my knowledge is quite limited, as I only occassionally get to use them).
