I don't know the exact details, but the graphics/drm-stable-kmod and graphics/drm-next-kmod ports provides support for intel graphics (and AMD) on 11 stable and the upcoming release. This corresponds to linux kernel 4.9 and 4.11 support, respectively. You can try either of those. Currently all my Atom boards are on a different continent so I haven't been able to do any testing lately with the backported drm code to 11-stable. It should work fine but if there's any issues you can always run with the scfb driver for now. The Z8350 is fast so it can handle software rendering quite good. > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-x11@freebsd.org mailing list > https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-x11 > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-x11-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" > From owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Tue May 8 08:34:19 2018 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DEB4DFAD6FA for ; Tue, 8 May 2018 08:34:19 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from v.velox@vvelox.net) Received: from vulpes.vvelox.net (vulpes.vvelox.net [96.95.67.25]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5FA366E4F8 for ; Tue, 8 May 2018 08:34:17 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from v.velox@vvelox.net) Received: from vvelox.net (localhost [127.0.0.1]) (Authenticated sender: kitsune) by vulpes.vvelox.net (Postfix) with ESMTPA id 1D85F22AC797; Tue, 8 May 2018 03:34:15 -0500 (CDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Date: Tue, 08 May 2018 03:34:15 -0500 From: "Zane C. Any way to do this on the console? Looking at some of the GPD Pocket like ultra portables and these tend to come up like a tablet, meaning the console is rotated. Now i'm sending this mail from x5-Z8350 [1]. x5-Z8350 needs graphics/drm-next-kmod and should be added 'kld_list="/boot/modules/i915kms.ko"' in rc.conf. Since my laptop's memory is 4 GB and storage is eMMC (64GB), reldering is not so fast and somtimes freeeze in case of over load especcially chromium runnning ;-) [2]. Now existing problem is sound because *-CURRENT does not support Intel SST Audio Device(WDM). The remotre server is a recent SLES Linux system. This thread started in freebsd-questions@ and I now move it to here as it seems more a problem of the Xorg server than a ssh problem of the base system. When I launch 'ssh -X remote host' to get X11 forwarded to my workstation this does not work, i.e. does not produce a DISPLAY env on the remote host and says: $ ssh -X apitzm@srap16dxr1 Warning: untrusted X11 forwarding setup failed: xauth key data not generated Last login: Wed May 9 12:37:17 2018 from 10.49.8.33 apitzm@srap16dxr1:~> I digged into it with -vv options for ssh and trussing the client. The > remotre server is a recent SLES Linux system. This thread started in > freebsd-questions@ and I now move it to here as it seems more a problem > of the Xorg server than a ssh problem of the base system. As the ssh manpage tells us, X11 forwarding with "-X" is subject to the X11 SECURITY extension controls. For the whole X11 SECURITY stuff, the doc entry point is https://www.x.org/wiki/Development/Documentation/Security/ , but in a hash - "... SECURITY, which provides support for a simple trusted/untrusted connection model. Untrusted clients are restricted...". What you want in most cases is a "trusted" connection, which you'll get by using "ssh -Y" (or by using ForwardX11Trusted in ssh config). Once you know about the SECURITY extension, this is entirely expected... Use xdpyinfo to find out about active X11 extensions: on my systems, the FreeBSD system with fairly minimal X11 configuration does not have SECURITY active (so using "ssh -X" from Linux to FreeBSD works out fine), but the Linux (Debian) system with a similarily minimal xorg.conf has SECURITY enabled: I need "ssh -Y" from FreeBSD to Linux. I haven't yet checked what causes these differing defaults. I always have found that the simple solution to this was the '-Y' option as described in the man page for ssh. -X Enables X11 forwarding. This can also be specified on a per-host basis in a configuration file. X11 forwarding should be enabled with caution. Users with the ability to bypass file permissions on the remote host (for the user's X authorization database) can access the local X11 display through the forwarded connection. An attacker may then be able to perform activities such as keystroke monitoring. For this reason, X11 forwarding is subjected to X11 SECURITY extension restrictions by default. Please refer to the ssh -Y option and the ForwardX11Trusted directive in ssh_config(5) for more information. IIRC, FreeBSD (and OpenBSD) chose to require -Y to emphasize the risks involved. I'm guessing that des@ was responsible on the FreeBSD side. Bootstrapping jemalloc on FreeBSD is really tricky, because pthreads mutexes use malloc, = and jemalloc has to jump through hoops to initialize its mutexes in multiple phases. It looks like beignet depends on the libpthread-stubs package. Is it possi= ble that the stubs don't sufficiently stub out the libc-internal hooks that jemalloc uses to bootstrap? Does anyone = know of a terminal that doesn't round character cells to be an integer number of= pixels? --=20 Peter Jeremy --HlL+5n6rz5pIUxbD Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQKTBAEBCgB9FiEE7rKYbDBnHnTmXCJ+FqWXoOSiCzQFAlr2JH9fFIAAAAAALgAo aXNzdWVyLWZwckBub3RhdGlvbnMub3BlbnBncC5maWZ0aGhvcnNlbWFuLm5ldEVF QjI5ODZDMzA2NzFFNzRFNjVDMjI3RTE2QTU5N0EwRTRBMjBCMzQACgkQFqWXoOSi CzQg7w/+L+mKvne/b9Qx2hS/IatVVhRhb0FuOov4R62kFm67/I2sOPtxj1WuiIiK xSsvP0GVtc9dzlXVh728KSHFbhu75RCd8GJy+UDyknl7R7w6429fA4C1IU3xFjee OZ+QZTzsSTziZWrdzQFtvk4UweLkee6Dy9G4g1xgLuu6AaIagqp04DIlRmAyeTkl iMfnq8JRYxGOgetGMCex5s5yQbJyMzNXmZbAfQKQ4UPfxkw4J0w+TTwlL7gwmF0B meDLzVbiUhzSVlqEndlLE57aY8UdsulBlsTtsAUc5FsvLrOux8weeN9QA/2vHTqr nGxgYOh9PiyC/mecYf+QPFRKmPAoJtAUV42fHKSUxcWpvyuY/7fD1i2aodQgpwF/ PmppFW4HotXZl+DCFo34S+rfAn8RHWil/HqRh44kNrjAYjORLRJolUTcflSFP05Q YZBQ9s77yzpoy9Tg5M5mO/Lrcf3diqNXFdlGuzGDLlyiksG8CqSWVl6OZmijeUy+ 2hkxoJhNJQCg9KToXbG60eML4NHHHQrtqEsD0YsyAez+NdoBRxZPjUn/bKo71iLX 1Ekn7KleUeMbIxuCzgJLb652dInYL3E1FmASyv+qQxamI/Y63Kly1pCyFR25AhxU ohO6SNEAQXBhE3anIDmXcP8M0y6KsqQT6zI1vt84fChWmLU7fwM= =Lk6L -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --HlL+5n6rz5pIUxbD-- From owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Sat May 12 10:26:08 2018 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 64876FD25F4 for ; Sat, 12 May 2018 10:26:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (mailman.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::50:5]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E9A0B79E6B for ; Sat, 12 May 2018 10:26:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id A4288FD25F3; Sat, 12 May 2018 10:26:07 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: x11@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 922B7FD25F2 for ; Sat, 12 May 2018 10:26:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org (mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:3]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 2F23379E58 for ; Sat, 12 May 2018 10:26:07 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 6EC9C165C3 for ; Sat, 12 May 2018 10:26:06 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id w4CAQ6wS039203 for ; Sat, 12 May 2018 10:26:06 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id w4CAQ6N8039202 for x11@FreeBSD.org; Sat, 12 May 2018 10:26:06 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: x11@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 227685] graphics/mesa-dri: update to 18.1.0 Date: Sat, 12 May 2018 10:26:06 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: patch X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: jbeich@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: x11@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback?
