It's not moderated. Created as freebsd.org support of CTM deltas is not good: - Over a month, deltas have been delayed at @freebsd.org (No delays on berklix.org equivalent lists) - CTM was moved from src to ports - 3 months of ignored mails to freebsd.org admins to create src-12 before we gave up & created our own. - freebsd.org abandoned its ftp archives of deltas - Handbook has had some refs to CTM removed. - Periodicly non CTM users question the status of CTM. We can continue just using while it works, but if it fails, the fallback is ready, you'll need to subscribe: http://mailman.berklix.org/mailman/listinfo/ctm-users Cheers, Julian -- Julian Stacey, Consultant Sys. A sample: ] Your mail to 'ctm-src-cur' with the subject ] ctm-mail src-cur.14189.gz 1/1 ] Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval. ] The reason it is being held: ] Post to moderated list (*) ctm-src-10-fast@ saw the same fault Sun, 25 Aug 2019, Maybe the fault is still there, as that was our last delta to that stream. (*) The same fault may or not exist on some other CTM lists, we won't know unless the generator emits new deltas, (which would only happen if freebsd.org's svn tree sees new commits to old tags). (*) I asked for access to CTM lists to check, but was ignored so can't inspect. I did subscribe the sender address & ask postmaster@freebsd.org to check it was unmoderated for all CTM lists, but it didn't fix it. freebsd.org continues to fail, wasting moderators@freebsd.org time & my time. Now it's freebsd.org SVN mirror to CTM generator on berklix.org; Then to both lists, on: berklix.org (OK) & freebsd.org (failing). & some freebsd.org lists delay & break Best migrate your CTM delta subscriptions from freebsd.org to berklix.org In case of later illness or absence, I could now give a 2nd person access to manage CTM delta lists. Someone who values CTM & idealy also familiar with mailman admin. Cheers, Julian -- Julian Stacey, Consultant Sys. Eng. Although CTM's etymology from first authour was "Cvs Tree Mirror" that now misleads, per my http://www.berklix.org/ctm/#what "Code Through Mail" might best summarise it at 2018-12 CTM is now a means of delivering tree updates (Similar result to to rdist6 & rsync & mirror, though those rely on different functionality: end to end live pull using ports some firewalls etc may block, whereas CTM just pushes with SMTP, unlikely blocked) Most trees we deliver with CTM are src-* releases, + 1 ports, + 1 SVN, but surely CTM could just as readily deliver a GIT tree as an SVN, as its already done for CVS too ? Admittedly if freebsd moves to GIT, we'd need to tweak the server scripts to do GIT export instead of svn export. My http://www.berklix.org/ctm/#why "Why Use CTM for Delivery Instead of SVN ?" may also misleading, accidentaly reinforcing the wrong impression that CTM is just an alterantive to SVN. Its not. I'll fix it. Cheers, Julian -- Julian Stacey, Consultant Sys. Eng.
