There are some problems booting FreeBSD 13-CURRENT (from March) on it. I tried booting with both kern.cfg.order=acpi and kern.cfg.order=fdt . In ACPI mode I saw complaints that it couldn't find FDT related data, so I guess that's an unsupported configuration. With kern.cfg.order unset, I see the following in dmesg: pci0: on pcib0 pcib1: at device 1.0 on pci0 pcib0: pci_host_generic_core_alloc_resource FAIL: type=3, rid=32, start=0000000000000000, end=00000000000fffff, count=0000000000100000, flags=0 pcib1: failed to allocate initial memory window: 0-0xfffff pci1: on pcib1 pci1: at device 0.11 (no driver attached) pci1: at device 0.12 (no driver attached) ... pci1: at device 0.81 (no driver attached) bgx0: mem 0x87e0e0000000-0x87e0e03fffff,0x87e0e0400000-0x87e0e07fffff at device 0.128 on pci1 bgx0: Could not find matching PHY device_attach: bgx0 attach returned 6 bgx0: mem 0x87e0e1000000-0x87e0e13fffff,0x87e0e1400000-0x87e0e17fffff at device 0.129 on pci1 bgx0: Could not find matching PHY device_attach: bgx0 attach returned 6 pci0: at device 9.0 (no driver attached) xhci0: mem 0x868000000000-0x8680001fffff,0x868000200000-0x8680002fffff at device 16.0 on pci0 xhci0: 64 bytes context size, 64-bit DMA usbus0 on xhci0 xhci1: mem 0x869000000000-0x8690001fffff,0x869000200000-0x8690002fffff at device 17.0 on pci0 xhci1: 64 bytes context size, 64-bit DMA usbus1 on xhci1 pcib2: at device 20.0 on pci0 pcib0: pci_host_generic_core_alloc_resource FAIL: type=3, rid=32, start=0000000000000000, end=00000000000fffff, count=0000000000100000, flags=0 pcib2: failed to allocate initial memory window: 0-0xfffff -- Rebecca Cran From owner-freebsd-arm@freebsd.org Tue Apr 30 12:39:48 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-arm@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 89B26158FA7D for ; Tue, 30 Apr 2019 12:39:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from balanga.bar@gmail.com) Received: from mail-ed1-x52b.google.com (mail-ed1-x52b.google.com [IPv6:2a00:1450:4864:20::52b]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256 (128/128 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (2048 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "GTS CA 1O1" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 495C96E28D; Tue, 30 Apr 2019 12:39:47 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from balanga.bar@gmail.com) Received: by mail-ed1-x52b.google.com with SMTP id l25so12132245eda.9; Tue, 30 Apr 2019 05:39:47 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20161025; h=mime-version:references:in-reply-to:from:date:message-id:subject:to :cc; bh=5EWf6LKoM5RZpsZ8gQVj60CJKnzO70CHrjjEIjXpsVM=; b=beacubgSLkwSD4hKkO5JABR5kCsJ8wZTnoLkK3o6o7gxXZkdxt8Pt60o0BxvGuOftq 0yJVsSaptV/Zx4TCJltqPgaiz/IH7P3PFZbJ1NmR2gKymNKsGpZ0/Q+g8BYRKLJCX9jK GklITj/yrjKITmoifVTOuhCM4mQ8XXIylCrsttMcNCFoPgQ4+w76xG04Y7kKpFq00ZZk rpeNOs7+QnCaoxKUGWTrL4u06q+WqB+wsL0s9GgetEgNGhlpRL2me1zvSEoyy1Jlevkn 2YusA4P6DG145zm8GVZi8ONn5rH+cXhE2A0A6mVTqBAMjnemcFte8895+52dUVOmEzeM 15KA== X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:references:in-reply-to:from:date :message-id:subject:to:cc; bh=5EWf6LKoM5RZpsZ8gQVj60CJKnzO70CHrjjEIjXpsVM=; b=La093dMYSnq5A2M7dG2o2JZ2hgq0eZqE+d73Gi5DQHL3kdxS79CBO8ddBlWtbpKBS1 weYvvJ5ATo1ZE37f+G1x6vaP7/TD9+xd869V14ORv4Ec7vCtOEpFqGcS+P2VcII2I9Ej zt5dl6rlfZ+GuAJIkW/0IJNPBKM90n2T5LtS75rlsm3dFMWtC11NJIzHMEw1veqiBhYn J2M8VQ9LZPWvwvjRrtb8pdx/918V46PJNuW75nDXDi28XWN+n+6wcPNqn4+Am4+fefOA WXO5FJNAb21KewGPnqKKqQvxALRQGOb4i748DEkDkuDBnwn6Xtd7wfJcKXtH1BzZUyds bSxA== X-Gm-Message-State: APjAAAWN/dDrD1O6BOAv3+WaRrGxi/SwZvny0e0ECpDv6JeK+4If0bxF YgtQ9M6suyT/Y77ObczaKTREBwOxkTr60vqaJlROBH7R X-Google-Smtp-Source: APXvYqzsGYMWhD9D6LSJN3Q+MOIH9tIyfbGpmvIX4rLwrF/srAk+KR/WILUueyjMULKGJbWbsWhMy5zSqmFnILnJcFg= X-Received: by 2002:a17:906:2a94:: with SMTP id l20mr34091319eje.44.1556627986077; Tue, 30 Apr 2019 05:39:46 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 References: <693425711bdc5e7fbff22bb4056c33326fca8c4d.camel@freebsd.org> <7a36b81cb2c29293296bac9ae1764f0091281408.camel@freebsd.org> <20190423075411.GA18137@lonesome.com> <20190423165731.GB10587@lonesome.com> <1995497096.1.1556098457731@localhost> <471BDE16-1AE2-425A-87F9-8CCE70532A3F@gromit.dlib.vt.edu> In-Reply-To: From: Balanga Bar Date: Tue, 30 Apr 2019 14:39:16 +0100 Message-ID: Subject: Re: Marvell Kirkwood - anyone? This seems to be solely related to the firmware autonegotiation - once the FreeBSD kernel starts, it's rock solid at 1000/FDX. It also gets less reliable as the ambient temperature drops[2]. Whilst the above firmware isn't the latest, the changelogs for the later versions appear solely related to supporting the RK3399. Has anyone else seen a problem like this? [1] I've tried both a NetGear switch and a spare port on my main FreeBSD server with the same behaviour. [2] Warming the board with my wife's hairdryer will "fix" the problem. --=20 Peter Jeremy --fUYQa+Pmc3FrFX/N Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQKTBAEBCgB9FiEE7rKYbDBnHnTmXCJ+FqWXoOSiCzQFAlzKmixfFIAAAAAALgAo aXNzdWVyLWZwckBub3RhdGlvbnMub3BlbnBncC5maWZ0aGhvcnNlbWFuLm5ldEVF QjI5ODZDMzA2NzFFNzRFNjVDMjI3RTE2QTU5N0EwRTRBMjBCMzQACgkQFqWXoOSi CzTwtA/+I2HTd52I08Iech2UixyztAINh8OJg6EOMIjunV0jD9tHtDJJYjWY2zq5 pe3gxiJHpsoaDysVjNh7N/u4tXWoxM39Xjsp2nq8o//sLN7Fhpz4jl9j93Y81rG9 SPfn4V27MmxaXZ93UxKeOOdC4zZFjn7wWoLPok4Mt4Rg9YbemeFZLTWmnEy70lHr YL2m8QxwY+5tAqzM7c4C/Zg07JB0+G02yOGT0AewwbBCPc8UpoURAm/NKa43t7z1 rb5dD6IorTa+4aVi+KDg6NeI8sp2Dn/FR0eMz5Yl55V+ideTIc78EbqZYVe3h3o9 lC6OfY/QtSzyjcuHLADqHMgIrs8txGIFfCmpoA16t58MHtrcRRD95tGU+XOP2rnF o6zneqPg5f1VDPqeaJDTuGa252DGTbNnuQ2DSoFetkLNPPpCIniVETMwsFaM5bCD 2UJte7hiWaheqbq6EFZoUGrG8UeK/FkPDddK+OHHLeDN3YVwf/5GJfc0C2/APTno Wg9jmYGd5dIn9gjMfB4ROTpCMBzOkI2uY1hy/JNAJ2HrO7stILhU0IP4pU3RDbEJ ROqJpsAUanMpp1FkE97S6BdUL/hafn0NaYhtuFHIteZsXrD7QWSpta/B8UX+UrWx m2qLgCuDrXfk5wgzCavbVzBGkCd8WPbrZMc4hM2qrHTmvuj/+OI= =0ad2 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --fUYQa+Pmc3FrFX/N-- From owner-freebsd-arm@freebsd.org Fri May 3 02:54:55 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-arm@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 304381581EB6 for ; Fri, 3 May 2019 02:54:55 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from fauser76@outlook.com) Received: from NAM02-BL2-obe.outbound.protection.outlook.com (mail-oln040092003038.outbound.protection.outlook.com [40.92.3.38]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "mail.protection.outlook.com", Issuer "GlobalSign Organization Validation CA - SHA256 - G3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 07FC583D33 for ; Fri, 3 May 2019 02:54:52 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from fauser76@outlook.com) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=outlook.com; s=selector1; h=From:Date:Subject:Message-ID:Content-Type:MIME-Version:X-MS-Exchange-SenderADCheck; bh=R9qAbgEVq/cV9TYeErVyhyfLcx1eNpkdc+X0/kRE4HM=; b=f/CG9ErjMmyLhv6EJQ5YmJNWetpgzhgKlmxCAleO065mGmmjCQsqBCpKR1nXR2fWY+Q89va2Lsu9w8zMSzLc81oDgRiEZappBBXEcRUsqftX/KSIRqUNF5tR15xz4JcW8OEIeVjN3TLdUsgzofhrU/O+eSCOcwpC8v4TzQkB3gwmS4Knq2Nb1YH4mS5gP/XJdqx5z5+RecLqbF40k5w750+yBg+RIicNigA3LbJAERdFgdn/88yfdbNJnC2OUzhgHKAX16cQiG8wcQ4T073JFq8eSNVkFNW+GvRCzUtAlTg1dKn6CTo6AMNLMIy9Bnc1dTklLu9xs4VvTDeGWrwlUA== Received: from BL2NAM02FT037.eop-nam02.prod.protection.outlook.com (10.152.76.51) by BL2NAM02HT239.eop-nam02.prod.protection.outlook.com (10.152.76.136) with Microsoft SMTP Server (version=TLS1_2, cipher=TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384) id 15.20.1856.11; Fri, 3 May 2019 02:54:51 +0000 Received: from BL0PR07MB3939.namprd07.prod.outlook.com (10.152.76.51) by BL2NAM02FT037.mail.protection.outlook.com (10.152.77.11) with Microsoft SMTP Server (version=TLS1_2, cipher=TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA384) id 15.20.1856.11 via Frontend Transport; Fri, 3 May 2019 02:54:51 +0000 Received: from BL0PR07MB3939.namprd07.prod.outlook.com ([fe80::5d7a:f143:cfe:dea0]) by BL0PR07MB3939.namprd07.prod.outlook.com ([fe80::5d7a:f143:cfe:dea0%7]) with mapi id 15.20.1856.012; Fri, 3 May 2019 02:54:51 +0000 From: Jonathon Fauser To: "freebsd-arm@freebsd.org" Subject: Li have a lg rebel 4 some one has remote acess. how do i STOP? It kind of works with the default i2c utility. But it returns twice the high byte instead of the high and low byte for the temperature. Probably because it does 1 byte reads on the I2C bus, sending a stop condition after every byte. The device expects continuous reads and no stop/start in between the 2 bytes. Trying all options i2c, most notably the -m mode switch, yields the same results all the time. Looking at the code in i2c.c Could any one help to solve this problem with working I2CRDWR utility. Hm, it's not entirely clear to me what you're asking for, but if it is a variant of i2c(8) that uses the I2CRDWR ioctl for data transfers, you can find one at https://github.com/vzaigrin/newi2c - note the comments/caveats though. FWIW, it worked fine for me when figuring out the ads1015 AD converter (after which I wrote my own "dedicated" code for that, using I2CRDWR). --Per From owner-freebsd-arm@freebsd.org Sat May 4 13:04:09 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-arm@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3945A158E0B1 for ; With the MMC stack I would see m= mcsd0s1, mmcsd0s2, and mmcsd0s2a. With the MMCCAM stack I only see sdda0s1 = and sdda0s2. There should be an sdda0s2a. I can still mount the root partit= ion via labels (/dev/ufs/rootfs). Any ideas? - James Shuriff ________________________________ DISCLAIMER: This message and any attachments are intended solely for the us= e of the recipient and may contain confidential information.
