The problem was debugged by ZoL developers and then, independently, on FreeBSD. The fix is an early proposal by Brian Behlendorf: =20 https://github.com/behlendorf/zfs/commit/50f32ed74e42aa28522e9681fb8ae55239= fa33a7 This fix never went into ZoL. A larger change that was committed later included a different solution because of the re-worked code. Ideally, we want to revert this fix and re-synchronize FreeBSD large dnode code with that in illumos (or newer ZoL). illumos has a later import of the feature from ZoL that does not have the bug. I see mention of USB and GELI. If we can get a lowest-common-denominator to recreate the issue, that will help. Most often the reason for EBUSY on export is a mounted filesystem, or a zvol that is opened by an application. What may be causing the issue here is if there is a zvol that has a partiti= on table, it may be open by GEOM. Setting 'volmode' to 'dev' instead of the default (geom), may solve the iss= ue in that case. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-fs@freebsd.org Wed Aug 14 08:24:49 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-fs@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 14840CB200 for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:49 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (mailman.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:13]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 467jLS6mvQz3yjw for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id E6B96CB1FF; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:48 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: fs@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E67E4CB1FE for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 467jLS5tftz3yjv for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id C1511251CC for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id x7E8Omni088461 for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:48 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id x7E8Omlf088460 for fs@FreeBSD.org; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:48 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: fs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 239797] zfs promote corrupted df/mount output of device names of UFS filesystems Date: Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:46 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: avg@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: fs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: cc Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-fs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.29 Precedence: list List-Id: Filesystems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 14 Aug 2019 08:24:49 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D239797 Andriy Gapon changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |avg@FreeBSD.org --- Comment #2 from Andriy Gapon --- (In reply to martin from comment #1) Good catch! Some folks that I am working with at Netflix have found some rather severe bugs in TRIM support on some of the flash drives t= hat they have been using. I have bought an array of cheap flash drives on Amazon and tried them out u= sing your suggested tests. I have not been able to precisely reproduce your problems, but I have gotten problems that are caused by what appears to be faulty TRIM implementations (i.e., the problem goes away when I disable TRI= M). Is the drive on which you are experiencing the problem a flash drive, and i= f so does the problem go away when you disable TRIM? If so, then I would chalk up the problem to faulty TRIM microcode. I added TRIM consolidation in -r338517 which helps reduce the number of TRIM commands sent to the drive by aggregating them into bigger pieces. But the bigger pieces can hit other TRIM bugs that do not deal well with big TRIM requests. So you can try disabling vfs.ffs.dotrimcons to see if that makes a difference. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-fs@freebsd.org Wed Aug 14 19:39:23 2019 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-fs@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id BC75FB86DA for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4680Jq4d29z3MN8 for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 9CA18B86D7; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:23 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: fs@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9B4E1B86D6 for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4680Jq3VWVz3MN7 for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 5A78B4EEE for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id x7EJdNOa041113 for ; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:23 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id x7EJdNDq041112 for fs@FreeBSD.org; Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:23 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: fs@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 238663] [UFS] Corrupted files since migration to FreeBSD11 Date: Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:22 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: kern X-Bugzilla-Version: 11.2-RELEASE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: regression X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: imp@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: In Progress X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: fs@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: cc Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-fs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.29 Precedence: list List-Id: Filesystems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 14 Aug 2019 19:39:23 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D238663 Warner Losh changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |imp@FreeBSD.org --- Comment #11 from Warner Losh --- I'd be quite keen to know what the 'bad drives' are.
