I see that this kind of problem was discussed several times in the past: https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-current/2018-June/069704.html https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-mobile/2017-August/013617.html https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-mobile/2016-March/013370.html https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-mobile/2016-November/013577.html OpenBSD's imt(4) driver detects this touchpad, and it works normally.=20 Please find the relevant info below.=20 Can someone tell us if any kind of work on porting imt(4) driver (or writing FreeBSD's own from scratch) is planned? Or it's better to return this laptop and buy another one? They came in 2016ff with a Cyapa touchpad which works fine with the cyapa(4), ig4(4) and iicbus(4) driver stack. In 2017 one of these C720 went for repair to Acer.com and was returned with a new touchpad of Elantech which was until now not supported in CURRENT. I do not own this special C720 at the moment but could ask the friend to run a test as well with the new proposed driver. matthias -- Matthias Apitz, ✉ guru@unixarea.de, http://www.unixarea.de/ +49-176-38902045 Public GnuPG key: http://www.unixarea.de/key.pub May, 9: Спаси́бо освободители!
