Most of the git-specific work is at https://github.com/FreshPorts/git_proc_commit in the git-to-freshports directory. There are several issues open, some for documentation purposes, other for tracking. What I do need is a better icon for the git link: https://devgit.freshports.org/images/git.png https://devgit.freshports.org/ is covering only ports head commits at present. This is because commits to a repo branch must be tracked separately. We are walking through the commits via these steps: * git fetch origin * git checkout master * $startpoint=latest commit in our working copy : $(git log master..$REMOTE/master --oneline --reverse | head -n 1 | cut -d' ' -f1) * list of commits to process is: git rev-list startpoint..HEAD This will only cover commits on head for https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-ports We need a separate process for checking commits to 2020Q3. We need to expand this for: * https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd * https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-doc It is the commits to branches which will be harder to track. It's as if we need to do: for branches in workingcopy do the iteration mentioned above done But not all branches are relevant. Indeed, many are not. -- Dan Langille dan@langille.org From owner-freebsd-git@freebsd.org Thu Jul 16 15:49:38 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-git@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7F9DD365572 for ; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 15:49:38 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from carpeddiem@gmail.com) Received: from mail-il1-f195.google.com (mail-il1-f195.google.com [209.85.166.195]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256 (128/128 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (2048 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "GTS CA 1O1" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4B6zG91jy8z3SDG for ; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 15:49:37 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from carpeddiem@gmail.com) Received: by mail-il1-f195.google.com with SMTP id i18so5442304ilk.10 for ; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 08:49:37 -0700 (PDT) X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:references:in-reply-to:from:date :message-id:subject:to:cc; bh=gBw3H770If83T0F58TEw1MAlXCniwu4FEk4IODNM/e0=; b=Q19o0Yjeqc+Y4dnwhcAEY0wm1Rkw9e3e99iQt0ScQIRE1+7vOM/zavAIEK7hDxlnnT BjDxvVbjAIzTcI0rMRyRnQQ8TwIvKKRoAUjyRwMfouv3Vc7WCvTRrLh2/oxSHNoFsXxs rQl+bB/wYg8idW/G8TP/e7fbs2oDGCNGs1arF+UNu+VIWfsF/VR6WiZLHCr4J7L2NJMn 3jCgZryzgVRVnqWJDAinaAOE0i3CCvRw+Sada2Tm10xKPFA+tkcDQd6UyUDmvLUBX3TU Y6zKb5Hjh+PaZMzlPm6c1YF6EeugWdWlrUi+BPalhmphiMxrhoh0RuIEThiO/KBPgdms OMhg== X-Gm-Message-State: AOAM531klAJ5B7NTSKUz0e970cOSbpxjiBnihDlx1Ut8c9S9jYVoU2Rs 0Vlg2f22DvWHwQQpyGMpuulEPYYUOAWfpYSXX2mq3Nee X-Google-Smtp-Source: ABdhPJwSofU6hwlxRgUpBrEW0gSet+WYLOnKsV5LxesBWnWIJRHb1kEji7ruPWdNxDzNH6oLt6oihcIm7U5oogszht0= X-Received: by 2002:a05:6e02:487:: with SMTP id b7mr5465802ils.100.1594914575884; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 08:49:35 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 References: In-Reply-To: From: Ed Maste Date: Thu, 16 Jul 2020 11:49:23 -0400 Message-ID: Subject: Re: FreshPorts - git : status up To: Dan Langille Cc: freebsd-git@freebsd.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" X-Rspamd-Queue-Id: 4B6zG91jy8z3SDG X-Spamd-Bar: - Authentication-Results: mx1.freebsd.org; dkim=none; dmarc=none; spf=pass (mx1.freebsd.org: domain of carpeddiem@gmail.com designates 209.85.166.195 as permitted sender) smtp.mailfrom=carpeddiem@gmail.com X-Spamd-Result: default: False [-1.77 / 15.00]; RCVD_TLS_ALL(0.00)[]; ARC_NA(0.00)[]; NEURAL_HAM_MEDIUM(-0.96)[-0.962]; FROM_HAS_DN(0.00)[]; TO_DN_SOME(0.00)[]; R_SPF_ALLOW(-0.20)[+ip4:209.85.128.0/17]; NEURAL_HAM_LONG(-0.92)[-0.919]; MIME_GOOD(-0.10)[text/plain]; PREVIOUSLY_DELIVERED(0.00)[freebsd-git@freebsd.org]; DMARC_NA(0.00)[freebsd.org]; NEURAL_SPAM_SHORT(0.11)[0.111]; TO_MATCH_ENVRCPT_SOME(0.00)[]; RCPT_COUNT_TWO(0.00)[2]; RCVD_IN_DNSWL_NONE(0.00)[209.85.166.195:from]; FORGED_SENDER(0.30)[emaste@freebsd.org,carpeddiem@gmail.com]; RWL_MAILSPIKE_POSSIBLE(0.00)[209.85.166.195:from]; R_DKIM_NA(0.00)[]; MIME_TRACE(0.00)[0:+]; ASN(0.00)[asn:15169, ipnet:209.85.128.0/17, country:US]; FROM_NEQ_ENVFROM(0.00)[emaste@freebsd.org,carpeddiem@gmail.com]; FREEMAIL_ENVFROM(0.00)[gmail.com]; RCVD_COUNT_TWO(0.00)[2] X-BeenThere: freebsd-git@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.33 Precedence: list List-Id: Discussion of git use in the FreeBSD project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 16 Jul 2020 15:49:38 -0000 On Wed, 15 Jul 2020 at 17:43, Dan Langille wrote: > > Hello, > > https://devgit.freshports.org/ is improving. Indeed, many are not. I think regexes like '2[0-9]{3}Q[1-4]' for ports and 'stable/[0-9]+' for src are probably sufficient to identify relevant branches; I don't think doc needs any branches. You can look at the history of a file and then look at the changes for the file in the commit: 1. https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-ports/commits/master/sysutils/goaccess/Makefile 2. https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-ports/commit/0957c7db9bf1fc4313cdefdcdc2608a0c965dda7#diff-cf13a8dcc2f5626915fc9214b89955c1 It's also possible to see a file at a particular commit: https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-ports/blob/8a8992fed482070b218c1d02b5425603ba4fa007/sysutils/goaccess/Makefile but that doesn't show you the diff between that rev and the previous commit. The exact feature you want, however, is not implemented from what I can tell: https://github.com/desktop/desktop/issues/6757 Finding the file in a commit is probably as good as it's going to get, however. -sc On Sun, Jul 12, 2020 at 4:18 PM Ed Maste wrote: > On Sun, 12 Jul 2020 at 19:08, Dan Langille wrote: > > > > Github doesn't translate that one: > > > > > https://github.com/freebsd/freebsd-ports/diff/sysutils/goaccess/Makefile?id=0957c7db9bf1fc4313cdefdcdc2608a0c965dda7 > > I do not know how to get similar output from GitHub, or even if it's > possible. > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-git@freebsd.org mailing list > https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-git > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-git-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" > From owner-freebsd-git@freebsd.org Thu Jul 16 16:51:32 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-git@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0DF0F367821 for ; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 16:51:32 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from carpeddiem@gmail.com) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4B70db5rcXz3XgD for ; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 16:51:31 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from carpeddiem@gmail.com) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id C88BD367170; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 16:51:31 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: git@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C84DE367544 for ; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 16:51:31 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from carpeddiem@gmail.com) Received: from mail-io1-f52.google.com (mail-io1-f52.google.com [209.85.166.52]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256 (128/128 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (2048 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "GTS CA 1O1" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4B70dZ4kyWz3XGy for ; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 16:51:30 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from carpeddiem@gmail.com) Received: by mail-io1-f52.google.com with SMTP id l17so6714137iok.7 for ; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 09:51:30 -0700 (PDT) X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:references:in-reply-to:from:date :message-id:subject:to:cc; bh=5EMl9RgwfbDQTwosCGZBp4o0/jmy8BR2SvcFZtANeLI=; b=IgnX0hAR4wW3S4fzS9Ul2BcuOGtVqNCLX0Ko8x7NjqozVVY5vyUY1jfEiBIPEthO2X cCj6nil2WDjkpINvSME1nT6YEoX+e32dertcHV4iAd/KlNkP1wY0xBm9AL7zi16o98XE eyChKOKqtAoNd4Ckfnq3nFeEZAKN/a37kbgP33s7fPn2pMgBTp9fOFqDSjxnspKM7e1W oyBQUUeTBSSTSKg39AICZ7cumLG6EtmZuqpo6oWMSOzPJ0bl30z45adE2v1gFqa8swpQ iOR1zA8P6xrrnnKorqwK/yW4KEhN8Eat18Ij8U0rL41k9wIVG04pAHHixHXCSBKEge+4 f8VA== X-Gm-Message-State: AOAM530S0rEBaO6LSJ6bFXIC0duhRsiDd76Faju29gX+sR1jaIofTs/j bbfYB8Vt1pjZ0MvtRj67TSIpkGWeg/RIFcMbRSc= X-Google-Smtp-Source: ABdhPJxblLXkSvw/MTTu942d+Ol1QGtOGeiO5MYl1GDFnIObmpiScfYV4xVGKF6Z7VgewtN8Ka3k5ubcT+AJIEhJ5FA= X-Received: by 2002:a02:908f:: with SMTP id x15mr5984724jaf.12.1594918289066; Thu, 16 Jul 2020 09:51:29 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 References: <100a7eb6-a51c-43e0-8c64-e0ecadfd1f74@www.fastmail.com> In-Reply-To: From: Ed Maste Date: Thu, 16 Jul 2020 12:51:14 -0400 Message-ID: Subject: Re: Links to individual file diffs To: Sean Chittenden Cc: Dan Langille , git@freebsd.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" X-Rspamd-Queue-Id: 4B70dZ4kyWz3XGy X-Spamd-Bar: - Authentication-Results: mx1.freebsd.org; dkim=none; dmarc=none; spf=pass (mx1.freebsd.org: domain of carpeddiem@gmail.com designates 209.85.166.52 as permitted sender) smtp.mailfrom=carpeddiem@gmail.com X-Spamd-Result: default: False [-1.76 / 15.00]; RCVD_TLS_ALL(0.00)[]; FREEMAIL_ENVFROM(0.00)[gmail.com]; ARC_NA(0.00)[]; FROM_HAS_DN(0.00)[]; RCPT_COUNT_THREE(0.00)[3]; TO_DN_SOME(0.00)[]; R_SPF_ALLOW(-0.20)[+ip4:209.85.128.0/17]; MIME_GOOD(-0.10)[text/plain]; PREVIOUSLY_DELIVERED(0.00)[git@freebsd.org]; DMARC_NA(0.00)[freebsd.org]; NEURAL_SPAM_SHORT(0.04)[0.039]; NEURAL_HAM_LONG(-0.89)[-0.887]; TO_MATCH_ENVRCPT_SOME(0.00)[]; RCVD_IN_DNSWL_NONE(0.00)[209.85.166.52:from]; NEURAL_HAM_MEDIUM(-0.91)[-0.910]; FORGED_SENDER(0.30)[emaste@freebsd.org,carpeddiem@gmail.com]; RWL_MAILSPIKE_POSSIBLE(0.00)[209.85.166.52:from]; R_DKIM_NA(0.00)[]; MIME_TRACE(0.00)[0:+]; RCVD_COUNT_TWO(0.00)[2]; ASN(0.00)[asn:15169, ipnet:209.85.128.0/17, country:US]; FROM_NEQ_ENVFROM(0.00)[emaste@freebsd.org,carpeddiem@gmail.com] X-BeenThere: freebsd-git@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.33 Precedence: list List-Id: Discussion of git use in the FreeBSD project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 16 Jul 2020 16:51:32 -0000 On Thu, 16 Jul 2020 at 12:19, Sean Chittenden wrote: > > You have to come about it differently because git isn't file-based.
