This is something that would actually require someone to work on full-time = (it also doesn't work on Linux, so actual architecture port would be necessary). There is downstream ppc64le fork, but FreeBSD is currently big-endian (and = this PR tracks anyway only ppc, which is big-endian only everywhere and webengine won't ever work on it, no matter the OS). I guess you can close this issue now. In the future, if webengine dependenc= y is only optional, it should be added only on amd64, i386 and maybe aarch64. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Mon Jul 20 04:28:05 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-ppc@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6601B371971 for ; Mon, 20 Jul 2020 04:28:05 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from marklmi@yahoo.com) Received: from sonic302-20.consmr.mail.gq1.yahoo.com (sonic302-20.consmr.mail.gq1.yahoo.com [98.137.68.146]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4B97xw3JZ1z4RvS for ; Mon, 20 Jul 2020 04:28:04 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from marklmi@yahoo.com) X-YMail-OSG: _I6xy7sVM1kI00mE5edE11AM3a7yZN9c5pZjPFywhFBZhF08ej6lccB2yHN7MLa ClfQl5vTB2pEaVxSr0kD3avwUjiGVoV9EA9lB4286ZSQ1yNbeXBMXn8oP4r3CblIKnTRafrmYNtj v4F2QeSQS4a2hyyQzvZdZH0XLVKwruIonyvZvrZQIi9I6uEpSLp6fIAEwN24VTDiaMrF3gao3Xp. n.Il_JW.3.PrPEOTghVVilXj2X76IggnBqzEA9FNNDElMRPEZzn8oRPHGlVOqrvPTTWhbX1gnh9O a2rLybKQJ_BvO44j_kSWdumqTcSYQQf_bp32.hgsCFPr0Hlr4xKj4XKLNqcmsFwN6mZHbJng8H5v QveywfDEqWZO35cLkBASMW._MWGjAHhgRca4DylaIRdoVKFIeV35a3ZIndW616GzNrYNjldJyLMO QknG6rwtyKYS6nIRwQ1rz6fwtDQGswGbYA3Z.m4yeigyIoNcNEjUi6v__r_iKxQmVSOxMRyLEOrR WMhbTyu0L8O.S_hO_6jBwPWk4Qu4zIDPWkAl7l22h33XpG_eTH_JozuEnmuLSaPB00noRIrMNp7E kaO22Cg.VhN2rzsXKmoF4acXUg9um2sUS4owAPSob_4Y1Aii7qn2Z.0WeCd19V8W4s0lqX7Xb53a IhbK6YzdQ_8GZprpqdVrXM0sdtW1rv752i0aqxWxf.bqL8TMiMRjwQGqCDnCVyo3t1odA.iIxS7Q 00bSv5VU7IRJb02HMAhVJZSw_a2.RIFTC_sE2QR51GjCO2YtaL.iobLcvqz2u_KRkFvUgyaSloVE zVAIbazeH5U8RnMHhxjHtcj_3EwtwuYXm3hXlfR4yWi36qIinEAWdqDZjcgKoOwj6jjEWwN1coXW c0PSL4FuywPd3_ecX7vWalu8YwdDQckH3JsctN0SDv9FbyTe5u3SQKClFv0fk9fRNrP_xXai3BKk BLxhfrB4ddUIh0YaUYYgVf4Zq2nY0Vx6p2AFQ3cy09GJ1.QFHHTyMZNWRl2eGowlL0qV1L4da_f4 cxFf0OVfa9lYWjJCXTFrVmVg2TRPTm3OMf0IVsCJlS2mrf5CJPOqw4RKY9cQGpO0T2I9QHdA91Ec aqYcMq5hNE0LTZL3vUlIVrApaQBurHaOOcozOgK4H2O1PhCt_b0QP3GX1NwJdapLtAhNvdQGVnHK cHq7quBDlnyzBgJP2_WHD.bE2BUKioFVNFBBju5YaRtbMgLOM.D7OHM9OTu63mGDYX9PeJd3LWRk 4LVcSRjPFAGT3t_hjo607YpZC3AOcFggZJSnOdj5uPsYnbCbdvXPRx69lGaAWkJK5nBhUl_6.5xs GHxE7ZW2e4NNC27_6MSdr5CjsB1CL_no_uUJuPpnGn_6JiHDJO_IbikF0wEI5Qj.yGk3fQPK0y08 MwEESSd9Khv1DmkjuP4Vd9dgBp3jUzBjn8HfzSJqoB6KMDg-- Received: from sonic.gate.mail.ne1.yahoo.com by sonic302.consmr.mail.gq1.yahoo.com with HTTP; Mon, 20 Jul 2020 04:28:02 +0000 Received: by smtp416.mail.ne1.yahoo.com (VZM Hermes SMTP Server) with ESMTPA ID 22cfd0c9461dae2812459f5a06747a5d; Mon, 20 Jul 2020 04:27:57 +0000 (UTC) From: Mark Millard Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Mime-Version: 1.0 (Mac OS X Mail 13.4 \(3608.80.23.2.2\)) Subject: FYI: Odd PowerMac 2-socket/2-cores-each (16 GiByte) crashes: looks like over-temperature (a "quad" bites the dust?) I'm now testing the media in the 12 GiByte 2-socket/2-cores-each (2 pumps) as a cross check on HW vs. SW. (Likely HW.) I've started up poudriere again. The 16 GiByte PowerMac failed in somewhat under 30 min of poudriere bulk activity (with a load average of more than 4 much of the time). . . . On the 12 GiByte, it has been 105 min+ with 0 temperature notices. So another old single-pump "Quad" may have bit the dust but the dual-pump one is still going. The 12 GiByte PowerMac has bad memory slot(s) and so cannot have 16 GiBytes of usable RAM. Try replacing files/patch-i386 with https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/5464 On i386 (clang) one can sometimes avoid -latomic by bumping -march (FreeBSD 11.4/12.2/13.0 defaults to i686) but powerpc (gcc) probably can't use __sync* with 64-bit types without -latomic, making Meson define MISSING_64BIT_ATOMICS to use src/util/u_atomic.c From owner-freebsd-ppc@freebsd.org Sat Jul 25 20:59:30 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-ppc@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 45EBB3703BF for ; Sat, 25 Jul 2020 20:59:30 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from marklmi@yahoo.com) Received: from sonic306-20.consmr.mail.gq1.yahoo.com (sonic306-20.consmr.mail.gq1.yahoo.com [98.137.68.83]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4BDdjY0F0Rz4fL7 for ; Sat, 25 Jul 2020 20:59:28 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from marklmi@yahoo.com) X-YMail-OSG: uVFr.IAVM1lkMT6ytH3YVsRW70ZXozK3uKHhAnZ8aDRYO_INmzDm0k.qVMIpOjM kAx5_THYtuWXffkeWv5bBOPNGrFcvG3N0AtKu7p9ufhFTQQdEMU.9CoOsJTjvJmC7pD9y2V7dY1C HMlQj98wi3jA8fXdPgYmJNzJcKLPtQJk_OfgSKv.3TTugqiOiJqwIrqPfp1Utx2Tc_ClVV_Zp6jl nBWHQytr8Z4Q3Op6dhQrOOTkazFjp9VI804I.kvLplXTy7b31g0xdLVi_GAB0lwrzKmDBpx9VMe1 d0TV8JywXL9si19nxtBrXLlUIxHyQAVqYjesihgQsJ3V5szOPSQcU6HR7Cz0GN0VkRTrFqGnUU_z HhDQQw6y0zGRnNwaWV2DqVclC8PeOK0vMNrvLzg1coQJP9.0HJH.SMNE_8aI7OgaBXhAFngjEc14 DO8T3H.LU_LGa5.9EVMUjg.AvkTYVQYyJlz7yiWhYdD2TC6Ffhj7Si7ppsfN8VU._Z1g4iS9omDh EOtdkPRepoAuFyWYMsoPhTvStWDp5araBlcvesVfEPPeHDzbSTsQ6BrmZsokMu1oGAESgFArCarD mM2aLB0R8v9LEOoL0WXjkRuF9.6vHPJrqjbuXukAfF9PdySy6GptuozrCxfnhqEz2stJzT6.MDtN ULej34hhYP_uFBSBzhnuAWuCrI7LEGdwQq9hx6Q6CLVgHnouXSBNXxdWd2yinOQpWnsoL_KVMwZ1 QmEvvSkRPtOiNZgooPM4j2uP1rONQ_JbQgyQ86LRv0GVtI6r63hULmpX_x47CXzkN2WxxR6RlA3o C9epnMOa1q6i6hyPiIILWUOl60ZfFloT1oVbMA7aRcJf1ILaivdFh3gGpERk_q.I4YRpT5NPkXtT SbtB4K8vaVnMUOuGTFcWhJv3aYzCubOBYfmlinlVQQpqzTex6mBF3CQmvY4NJSgMMXImSznlW4dU wZukDLxx.0JiPDx4MNvqarRorYNHxH5sDOe0fhWlPnRoL7BFiGMcVzTc_R.gd6wFwW.Hkk4H9c_I 2d.9zYru6eEPqm.XQBXC3NfGBrPxiB6pcY1v0K4dg1dzq_az.E_Un.9JQld758Z_.t6uJq59AcjV _opZZvujEDMP9NVc6UPDpTMZ1RFgxvtHwVb2y3SP8SRKrIOCLo6Z0idKgZPduD.6Nme3cwB6Rqyq i4T0bUNM6cPo9HKJ_htbByG01J3p4DyBslfV_sxqCpIiJjShxiLby_FziUyVMIpHsFieBRk_nIAO 245uoDSNMZ0ptZd1mz.Jk5UxgyWOvSZm_zpReb08zxSJdmsi8WL6iJkQK9dhzzVVwP.j8Z6V7du5 NxtZ0oiduwP6kTe0NoihDmvXrZ_nrhepmMSnHFnJycviZ0w3O36BDrTusc1eUsG7yQ74kqjZ0vic OZwkDrf4RWNrYrk61ZjuwYq5RjBzxjgSxozVFSuH9fVn8fOw8NLWZ4SHzpGsJIA-- Received: from sonic.gate.mail.ne1.yahoo.com by sonic306.consmr.mail.gq1.yahoo.com with HTTP; Sat, 25 Jul 2020 20:59:27 +0000 Received: by smtp431.mail.gq1.yahoo.com (VZM Hermes SMTP Server) with ESMTPA ID 7fb6abf2cd15c0ab079d54a82b47223e; Sat, 25 Jul 2020 20:59:27 +0000 (UTC) Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Mime-Version: 1.0 (Mac OS X Mail 13.4 \(3608.80.23.2.2\)) Subject: Re: Introduce WITH(OUT)_LTO? It looks a little more complicated than that . . . Looks like the devel/llvm80 devel/llvm90 and devel/llvm10 options for powerpc64 include one for: GOLD=3Don: Build the LLVM Gold plugin for LTO That produces a plugin (LLVMgold.so) for use with gnu's ld.gold ( from devel/binutils ). The system-clang/llvm materials do not seem to include LLVMgold.so and so prevent use of that toolchain for LTO via devel/binutils . (A FreeBSD choice rather than a llvm* vs. binutils technically-blocking issue?) devel/binutils builds and installs /usr/local/bin/ld.gold for both 32-bit powerpc contexts and for powerpc64 contexts. However, for the 32-bit powerpc context, the devel/llvm* do not include an option to enable building LLVMgold.so . I do not know if this is just a ports choice vs. if this has a technically-blocking issue involved. =3D=3D=3D Mark Millard marklmi at yahoo.com ( dsl-only.net went away in early 2018-Mar)
