Dear port maintainer,

The portscout new distfile checker has detected that one or more of your
ports appears to be out of date. Please take the opportunity to check
each of the ports listed below, and if possible and appropriate,
submit/commit an update. If any ports have already been updated, you can
safely ignore the entry.

You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations
below.

Full details can be found at the following URL:
http://portscout.freebsd.org/python@freebsd.org.html

Port | Current version | New version
------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------
devel/py-ipykernel5 | 5.3.4 | 5.4.0
------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------

If any of the above results are invalid, please check the following page
for details on how to improve portscout's detection and selection of
distfiles on a per-port basis:

--- Comment #12 from Chris Hutchinson <portmaster@bsdforge.com> ---

> Unless, your port already has its own specific build and install targets =
that do not rely on specifics of Uses/python.mk (e.g., distutils), in which=
 case you can already use:

Thank you for the reply, Oliver.
devel/tailor:
(Tailor is a tool to migrate changesets between Aegis, ArX, Bazaar, Bazaar-=
NG,
CVS, Codeville, Darcs, Git, Mercurial, Monotone, Perforce, Subversion, and =
Tla
repositories.)
I thought it might be helpful for many, given the impending FreeBSD
switch from SVN to GIT.
But given it's use (depends) on version 2.7. It was deleted from the
ports tree back in September. Between $work && trying to tool up for
the GIT change. I haven't found enough time to convert this to py3+ :-(
In case it interests anyone; the source is located:
https://bsdforge.com/projects/source/devel/tailor-0.9.35.tar.gz
Unless you (or anyone) comes up with a better suggestion. I'm just
going to install Tauthon and build/run depends against it, and see
what happens. Then share the results here.

Thanks again!

--- Comment #13 from Chris Hutchinson <portmaster@bsdforge.com> ---
Well, not surprisingly, it failed.
Tauthon built/installed as a BUILD/RUN DEPENDS
but not having:

USES=3D           tauthon:2.8

and

USE_TAUTHON=3D     autoplist distutils

available. The port failed to build.
So. Failing those. It's going to be a bit more
complicated than a simple drop-in.

Not that it wouldn't be fairly obvious; I just
thought I'd mention it.

A commit references this bug:

Author: linimon
Date: Wed Dec 16 01:45:02 UTC 2020
New revision: 558197
URL: https://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/ports/558197

Log:
Defuse a ticking time-bomb by removing the dependency on devel/bzr.

It is likely that this will break "make test", so, why am I doing it?

The answer is that devel/bzr unconditionally depends on python27 (it is
known not to build with python37) -- and python27 is imminently due for
  removal (see PR 249337).

This would not matter so much except that py-pip winds up a dependency
of devel/cmake, and thus, over 2000 ports -- all of which would have
  broken when python27 was removed.

Unfortunately the time before that removal happens is simply too short
to have a proper discussion with all stakeholders. We need to remove
the dependency immediately so that PR 249337 can proceed.

  PR: 249337 (related to)

Changes:
  head/devel/py-pip/Makefile

I realize this is a drive-by commit _without_ maintainer approval,
but my reasoning is below. Give the alternative on January 1st
of either breaking 2000+ ports, or merely "make test" here, I chose
the former.

If anyone has the cycles in the next few weeks to look at "make
test" here, please let me know (I do not).

--- Comment #9 from Chris Hutchinson <portmaster@bsdforge.com> ---
(In reply to commit-hook from comment #8)
FWIW I can take a stab at getting devel/bzr on py3x.
I'm pretty confident I can get it done before the
(py2x) deadline. I should have something before the
end of the week.

I mentioned it in the related bugzilla pr(1). But'll repeat it here;
I can take a stab at devel/bzr. I should have something useful by (or before)
the end of the week.

--- Comment #11 from Chris Hutchinson <portmaster@bsdforge.com> ---
(In reply to Steve Wills from comment #10)
LOL figures. I'm about 2/3 done with devel/bzr.
I already maintain devel/codeville and devel/tailor
which both have support for bzr, either directly,
or indirectly.
I only took on BZR here, because it appeared many
other ports in the tree used/depended on it.
Nonetheless, Breezy looks interesting. I'll take
a closer look as soon as I finish bzr (since I'm
already nearly done). :-)

Thanks for pointing it out Steve! :-)
It looks to be a "friendlier" alternative.

Dear port maintainer,

The portscout new distfile checker has detected that one or more of your
ports appears to be out of date. Please take the opportunity to check
each of the ports listed below, and if possible and appropriate,
submit/commit an update. If any ports have already been updated, you can
safely ignore the entry.

You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations
below.

Full details can be found at the following URL:
http://portscout.freebsd.org/python@freebsd.org.html

Port | Current version | New version
------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------
devel/py-ipykernel5 | 5.3.4 | 5.4.2
------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------
devel/py-pip | 20.2.3 | 20.3.3
------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------
devel/py-pytest | 4.5.0 | 6.2.1
------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------

If any of the above results are invalid, please check the following page
for details on how to improve portscout's detection and selection of
distfiles on a per-port basis:

Dear port maintainer,

The portscout new distfile checker has detected that one or more of your
ports appears to be out of date. Please take the opportunity to check
each of the ports listed below, and if possible and appropriate,
submit/commit an update. If any ports have already been updated, you can
safely ignore the entry.

You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations
below.

Full details can be found at the following URL:
http://portscout.freebsd.org/python@freebsd.org.html

Port | Current version | New version
------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------
databases/py-mongoengine | 0.20.0 | 0.22.1
------------------------------------------------+-----------------+------------

If any of the above results are invalid, please check the following page
for details on how to improve portscout's detection and selection of
distfiles on a per-port basis:
