This means that once=20 you have installed libxkbcommon 0.10.0_2 on FreeBSD 11, things should=20 work as normal, and the environment variable XKB_DEFAULT_RULES does not=20 need to be changed. That helps with the stage-qa error, too (missing dep). Note that the former sed(1) for xmlConfig.c has not been needed for a while= .=20 Install directories are configured correctly without it. The sed expr was wrong anyway (no trailing /, so the sed was a no-op). This could (should) go into a separate bug. Sorry to piggy back on the bug= .=20 I'll open a separate bug if desired. But otherwise, this patch's additions with the python 2.7 removal could be committed together. There is no need to bump PORTREVISION, I believe - no pkg change. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Mon Mar 23 21:32:24 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 36D2327091F for ; Mon, 23 Mar 2020 21:32:24 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 48mSJk5LsVz4txb for ; Mon, 23 Mar 2020 21:32:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 6A96527091C; Mon, 23 Mar 2020 21:32:21 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: x11@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 67B5D27091B for ; Mon, 23 Mar 2020 21:32:21 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 48mSJh6X8qz4tvY for ; Mon, 23 Mar 2020 21:32:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 442FD1CD67 for ; Mon, 23 Mar 2020 21:32:20 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 02NLWKuF062391 for ; Mon, 23 Mar 2020 21:32:20 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 02NLWKtC062390 for x11@FreeBSD.org; Mon, 23 Mar 2020 21:32:20 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: x11@FreeBSD.org Subject: maintainer-approval requested: [Bug 239939] graphics/mesa-dri: switch to default python version for build : [Attachment 212657] [patch] fix stage-qa findings & speed up the build a bit Date: Mon, 23 Mar 2020 21:32:20 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Type: request X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Many People X-Bugzilla-Who: X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: x11@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback? Just was unpleasantly astonished by this myself and found this PR. Personally I'd rather have "retro" pattern left by default and never touched (in accordance to "don't try to fix what ain't broken" rule), but then we'd have to do something about the "-retro" option (e.g. remove this bogosity) = and *that* already becomes intrusive. On the other hand, if upstream makes a stupid decision (and replacing traditional X pattern with black inconclusive blank vagueness is certainly stupid, if not idiotic) then we, downstream packagers, should correct it for the benefit of our end-users. If upstream had decided to use solid color, why not make it the same as your favourite bikeshed? Dark purple seems fine. :-) This way, "-retro" option would still behave as expected, requiring no intrusive changes to the port other than simple s/black/$somecolor/ one-line patch. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Wed Mar 25 07:41:14 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5CECF2790E4 for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:41:14 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (mailman.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:13]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 48nKmm6Xx0z48BC for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:41:12 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 630212790D8; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:41:04 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: x11@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4B9B32790D6 for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:41:04 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 48nKmZ644Cz4828 for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:41:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 29FCFF0A9 for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:32:43 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 02P7WgIk030213 for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:32:42 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 02P7WgTP030212 for x11@FreeBSD.org; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:32:42 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: x11@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 227967] [usability] x11-servers/xorg-server ships with black background which makes debugging X hard Date: Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:32:42 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: crees@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: In Progress X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: x11@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.29 Precedence: list List-Id: X11 on FreeBSD -- maintaining and support List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 25 Mar 2020 07:41:14 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D227967 --- Comment #6 from Chris Rees --- Hm, I'm not sure that 'black' is chosen as a 'wallpaper', but to be honest = I'm not massively averse to forcing the -retro option by default, I just feel a= bit uncomfortable with such a significant OS dependent change. I guess you're right, it's not that simple. Basically, the logic goes like this: > if (party_like_its_1989) { // -retro > MakeRootTile(pWin); > backFlag |=3D CWBackPixmap; > } > else { > pWin->backgroundState =3D BackgroundPixel; > if (whiteRoot) // -wr > pWin->background.pixel =3D pScreen->whitePixel; > else > pWin->background.pixel =3D pScreen->blackPixel; > backFlag |=3D CWBackPixel; > } So it's special "blackPixel" colormap entry, not simply "solid black". I g= uess we're better off properly documenting how users can select 1989-style (-ret= ro) or solid white (-wr) backgrounds. Another option would be to look into how OpenBSD patches it, but I don't fe= el motivated enough. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Wed Mar 25 10:58:16 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A3C4E27D99F for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:58:16 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 48nQ832DzVz4Ps4 for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:58:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 23EE427D974; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:58:05 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: x11@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2232027D973 for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:58:05 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 48nQ7t2czYz4PpZ for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:58:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 923AA199F4 for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:57:55 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 02PAvttQ025349 for ; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:57:55 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from bugzilla@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 02PAvtXv025345 for x11@FreeBSD.org; Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:57:55 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: bugzilla set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: x11@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 227967] [usability] x11-servers/xorg-server ships with black background which makes debugging X hard Date: Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:57:55 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: commit-hook@freebsd.org X-Bugzilla-Status: In Progress X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: x11@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.29 Precedence: list List-Id: X11 on FreeBSD -- maintaining and support List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 25 Mar 2020 10:58:17 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D227967 --- Comment #8 from commit-hook@freebsd.org --- A commit references this bug: Author: crees Date: Wed Mar 25 10:57:06 UTC 2020 New revision: 54014 URL: https://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/doc/54014 Log: Document the use of '-retro' to actually get a visible background. You can choose the man page section of interest in the dropdown menu. A list of all available man pages in that section will be shown. Also, to make sure that the manpages are indexed, you can run /etc/periodic/weekly/320.whatis as root by hand. -- Gary Jennejohn From owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Thu Mar 26 19:59:48 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9E3362601DD for ; Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (mailman.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:13]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 48pG6S72BNz3Nyk for ; Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:44 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id B24F22601D1; Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:39 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: x11@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id AEB112601D0 for ; Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:39 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 48pG6J2YZvz3NwR for ; Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:34 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id BA367C0EA for ; Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:28 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 02QJxS8F004592 for ; Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:28 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 02QJxSEC004591 for x11@FreeBSD.org; Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:28 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: x11@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 237642] x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati: Upgrade from 18.1.0 to 19.0.0 results in invisible mouse pointer Date: Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:27 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: gavin@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: x11@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.29 Precedence: list List-Id: X11 on FreeBSD -- maintaining and support List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 26 Mar 2020 19:59:48 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D237642 --- Comment #11 from Gavin Atkinson --- I seem to be hitting the same issue on 12.1-STABLE r359108 with: drm-legacy-kmod-g20200306 gpu-firmware-kmod-g20200130 xf86-video-ati-19.1.0_2,1 xorg-server-1.20.7_2,1 (all installed from packages), on: vgapci0@pci0:1:0:0: class=3D0x030000 card=3D0x90181028 chip=3D0x95c5100= 2 rev=3D0x00 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
