I have addressed it in my code. Hans, while your approach is correct (that's also done in Linux), for some reason it still crashes on vm_page_insert(). I must be doing "pa = " wrong. Stacktrace: https://misc.neelc.org/drm-kmod/stacktrace2.txt I have a separate function for getting the physical address: https://github.com/neelchauhan/drm-kmod/blob/5.7-wip/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_freebsd.c#L219 This crash happens when "iobase == -1", so we execute Lines 228-231: - } else { struct sgt_iter sgt = __sgt_iter(sgl, 0); pa = (sgt.pfn + (sgt.curr >> PAGE_SHIFT)) << PAGE_SHIFT; } sgt.curr is zero, since (I believe) it's the first iteration. I have copied the Linux approach and ported what I felt was necessary, I am worried I am doing this wrong. > Also, there is a superfluous "pa = " in the beginning of the function. Yes, this means etcupdate is not merging any changes to /etc. You should run 'etcupdate extract' before your next upgrade cycle. You should then review the output of 'etcupdate diff' to see if there are files in /etc that need updating. If there are files that you want to update to stock versions you can use 'etcupdate revert /path/to/file'. Otherwise, you can use the patch generated by 'etcupdate diff' either as a guide to manually update files to remove unwanted differences, or as input to patch -R. -- John Baldwin From nobody Tue Jun 22 18:24:17 2021 X-Original-To: freebsd-current@mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DCCB15D0DD8 for ; Tue, 22 Jun 2021 18:24:21 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jhb@FreeBSD.org) Received: from smtp.freebsd.org (smtp.freebsd.org [96.47.72.83]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "smtp.freebsd.org", Issuer "R3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4G8ZYK5mLkz3lD9; Tue, 22 Jun 2021 18:24:21 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jhb@FreeBSD.org) Received: from John-Baldwins-MacBook-Pro.local (ralph.baldwin.cx [66.234.199.215]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) (Authenticated sender: jhb) by smtp.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 40B99DB70; Tue, 22 Jun 2021 18:24:19 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from jhb@FreeBSD.org) Subject: Re: CURRENT: acpi_wakecode.S error: unknown -Werror warning specifier: '-Wno-error-tautological-compare' To: "O. I've done a bunch of variously branded 6Gb, and 12Gb SAS controllers to turn them into pass(4) devices. It's been about a year and a half since my last efforts. So my memory may be a bit off. But I did have problems a couple of times like you and I was able to overcome it by using a different motherboard. IOW some did well in DOS whereas some preferred the UEFI UI, and one needed a different UEFI -- a real PITA. I have a stockpile of various flashing utils and notes/procedures from both myself and others. I'll make a tarball out of everything I've got and give you a link (offlist). Maybe something I have will work better that your tools. Yes that's true. But the tools provided by the different vendors are unreasonably particular about their environment. So I've found that "one size does not fit all". :-( But who knows?
