I have a laptop with a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 wifi card and I'm wondering if anyone is currently working on drivers for that card? I've seen it's been mentioned on the forum some times. I'm a bit interested of coding on this but I'm not so sure if I know what I'm doing, but I can for sure test code with the hardware. So I made two errors: - I picked run(4) as a test example, but radiotap support (kinda obvious once you think of it) is device dependent - and the run driver does not support it. The device driver needs to set ic_th (the tap header and properly initialize the length field before finalizing attachment. - I was confused by the mumbling of tcpdump about monitor mode and somehow assumed different/more link layer types would be available in monitor mode (which IIUC [now] never is the case in FreeBSD) and then totaly confused radiotap bpf access with monitor mode VAPs, but of course they are orthogonal/independent. I took a look at the Linux iwlwifi code a= nd it seemingly uses a much more generous timeout (5,000us) than we do for EEP= ROM reads. So I can't see any reason not to double it if that fixes the driver= for you. I'll put the patch in my queue and commit.
