In a moment of clarity, I realized and learned a few things: 1. I had not properly added the necessary users to the `video` group. 2. In order to use libva with DRM in a jail, not only must you expose the d= rm and dri devs to the jail, but also the pci device, like so: ``` add path 'dri*' unhide add path 'dri/*' unhide add path 'drm*' unhide add path 'drm/*' unhide add path 'pci' unhide ``` It seems this is to satisfy the `drm_get_pci_id_for_fd` method here: https://github.com/mesa3d/mesa/blob/mesa-21.1.5/src/loader/loader.c#L388-L4= 07 I'll leave it to the rest of you to decide whether this 2nd point should be added to libva or mesa-gallium-va's post-install messages. There's already something there for Intel iGPUs, perhaps we should have something for PCI DRM-based drivers too (eg amdgpu). --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From nobody Thu Oct 7 12:44:41 2021 X-Original-To: x11@mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4264512D93E6 for ; Thu, 7 Oct 2021 12:44:44 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "R3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4HQ9y30lF3z4tpt for ; Thu, 7 Oct 2021 12:44:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 5B9C714196 for ; Thu, 7 Oct 2021 12:44:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 197CifqB043313 for ; Thu, 7 Oct 2021 12:44:41 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from bugzilla@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 197Cifgc043312 for x11@FreeBSD.org; Thu, 7 Oct 2021 12:44:41 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: bugzilla set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: x11@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 258931] x11/libinput: update to 1.19.1 Date: Thu, 07 Oct 2021 12:44:41 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: commit-hook@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: x11@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback+ X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated List-Id: X11 List-Archive: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-x11 List-Help: List-Post: List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: Sender: owner-freebsd-x11@freebsd.org X-BeenThere: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org MIME-Version: 1.0 X-ThisMailContainsUnwantedMimeParts: N https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D258931 --- Comment #4 from commit-hook@FreeBSD.org --- A commit in branch main references this bug: URL: https://cgit.FreeBSD.org/ports/commit/?id=3Da8f4add22623b1380efc4278d0e8672= 487aadfc3 commit a8f4add22623b1380efc4278d0e8672487aadfc3 Author: Adriaan de Groot AuthorDate: 2021-10-04 17:30:51 +0000 Commit: Adriaan de Groot CommitDate: 2021-10-07 12:40:00 +0000 x11/libinput: bump to 1.19.1, latest upstream release Release announcement is at =20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20 https://lists.x.org/archives/wayland-devel/2021-September/041989.html We skip over a bunch of intermediates, a little more than a year of updates. This file is passed through nvidia-xconfig, which does not preserve all options. /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg-nvidia-headless.conf Created by manually invoking /usr/local/bin/nvidia-headless-xconfig= . Once created, this configuration is not passed through nvidia-xconfig. Configuration is not normally needed for typical OpenGL acceleration usage. A properly configured xorg-nvidia-headless.conf will allow Xorg-nvidia-headless to be started by non-superuser if Xorg has been installed setuid. nvidia-secondary-driver-460.84_1: On install: To use these drivers, make sure that you have loaded the NVidia kernel module, by running # kldload nvidia (or nvidia-modeset, see below) on the command line, or by putting ``nvidia'' (or ``nvidia-modeset'', see below again) on ``kld_list'' variable in /etc/rc.conf, either manually or by running # sysrc kld_list+=3Dnvidia (or nvidia-modeset, see below) If you build this port with FreeBSD AGP GART driver, make sure you have agp.ko kernel module installed and loaded, since nvidia.ko will depend on it, or have your kernel compiled with "device agp". Otherwise, the NVidia kernel module will not load. Also, please set correct value for ``Option "NvAGP"'' in ``Device'' section of your X11 configuration file. When building with Linux compatibility support, make sure that linux.ko module is available as well (or have it compiled in kernel). It can be loaded via /boot/loader.conf, or later in the boot process if you add linux_enable=3D"YES" to your /etc/rc.conf. If X.org cannot start and reports (EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to obtain a shared memory identifier. in /var/log/Xorg.0.log while actually you have ``options SYSVSHM'' enabled in kernel, the sysctl ``kern.ipc.shmall'' should be increased. Users that experience hangs when starting X11 server, or observe (II) NVIDIA(0): Validated MetaModes: (II) NVIDIA(0): "NULL" in /var/log/Xorg.0.log should replace ``nvidia'' with ``nvidia-modeset'' in their /boot/loader.conf or /etc/rc.conf configuration files, depending on how they prefer to load NVidia driver kernel module. Otherwise, the NVidia kernel module will not load. Also, please set correct value for ``Option "NvAGP"'' in ``Device'' section of your X11 configuration file. When building with Linux compatibility support, make sure that linux.ko module is available as well (or have it compiled in kernel).
