I'm the maintainer of the net/Sockets port and I received this mail about it not being able to compile on 14. The last version of this library was published in 2013 (more than 10 years ago... no wonder it doesn't compile cleanly with a modern version of LLVM) and while their site does not explicitly say so, I'm tempted to think that it's abandonware. Personally I've used it once, some 15 years ago, to develop (on FreeBSD) what is now a legacy product that a former customer of mine moved to Linux, so it's been a long time since I had anything to do with it at all. AFAICT there is no consumer port either. So the question: is there any interset for this library? If so, I might try to fix this (but not any time soon... I guess notbefore 14.0 is officially released). Otherwise, I propose to drop the port. bye & Thanks av. Best would be if you filed a PR on bugzilla indicating that you wish to deprecate the port and are looking for others to step up. This makes it easier to keep track of things. Our process is to deprecate the port with an expiration date of a few months into the future. If nobody steps up to take up the work, it'll eventually get deleted. Hello

I've managed = to make it to work! Really nice feature.
My mistake is that I was= using a wrong TS because I didn't adjusted time zone:

Commit:
Tue Aug 1 10:08:07 2023 +0200

TS:
is 20230801080807
---------------- -^
not 20230801100807
--------------------^
:)

Thanks very mu= ch for explanation!

On Aug 2, 2023, at 11:18 AM, Nuno Teixeira <eduardo@freebsd.org> w= rote:

Hello,

I= 'm trying to get access to a go.mod no tagged that contains fixes that = I need to try.

security/gopass
and the module that I want to get is from c= ommit https://github.com/gopasspw/gopass/commit/

I've see some examples of ports doing this like devel/lab:
<= br>
USES=3D =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 go:modules
MODV= ERSION=3D =C2=A0 =C2=A0 0.25.2-0.20230225220034-98c3f01c08e1
GO_MODULE= =3D =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0github.com/zaquestion/lab@v${MODVERSION}=

My question is: how do I get vX.0.0-yyyymmddhhmmss-abcdefxyz, especially yyyymmddhhmmss that it is recomended not be created by= hand.

vX.0.0 =3D The n= ext version that might be upcoming where I will consider it is 1.15.7
=
yyyymmddhhmmss =3D The commit date and time for this case you can try = 20230801000000
abcdefxyz =3D Commit hash which is=C2=A08c666a93d844015cca992be0ab0c39992bb096ed

But above all different go applications has differen= t methods so try which one actually works. I believe I extracted the exact = TS from the git log.

Thanks!

Hi Nuno,

I use this command:

=C2=A0 =C2=A0 go list -m -f '{{.Version}}' package@githash

e.g.

=C2=A0 =C2=A0 go list -m -f '{{.Version}}' github.com/gopasspw/gopass@8c666a93d844015cca992be= 0ab0c39992bb096ed

This works with anything git understands.=C2=A0 Most importantly,
it also does the right thing for pseudo-versions inbetween
tagged releases.

Yours,
Robert Clausecker

A previously given example might help. Note the first two (automated) actions by bugzilla@

<https://bugs.freebsd.org/bu= gzilla/show_activity.cgi?id=3D272586>

Initial assignment and flagging is automated if the bug report is for a port, and if the summary line has a proper beginning.
