The unhelpful bis is that I do not have KDB_UNATTENDED set but yet it goes into automatic reboot. After reboot I did check: # sysctl debug.debugger_on_panic debug.debugger_on_panic: 1 Should I file a PR for this? > KDB: enter: Break to debugger > timeout stopping cpus > [ thread pid 9 tid 100240 ] > Stopped at kdb_alt_break_internal+0x180: str xzr, [x19, #1408] > db> timeout stopping cpus > panic: Assertion pcb->pcb_fpusaved == NULL failed at > /usr/src/sys/arm64/arm64/vfp.c:209 > cpuid = 0 > time = 1712167778 > KDB: stack backtrace: > db_trace_self() at db_trace_self > db_trace_self_wrapper() at db_trace_self_wrapper+0x38 > vpanic() at vpanic+0x1a4 > panic() at panic+0x48 > vfp_save_state_savectx() at vfp_save_state_savectx+0x48 > savectx() at savectx+0x38 > arm_gic_v3_intr() at arm_gic_v3_intr+0xe4 > intr_irq_handler() at intr_irq_handler+0x88 > handle_el1h_irq() at handle_el1h_irq+0x14 > --- interrupt > lock_delay() at lock_delay+0x18 > __mtx_lock_sleep() at __mtx_lock_sleep+0xdc > __mtx_lock_flags() at __mtx_lock_flags+0x138 > softclock_call_cc() at softclock_call_cc+0xd0 > softclock_thread() at softclock_thread+0xb8 > fork_exit() at fork_exit+0x78 > fork_trampoline() at fork_trampoline+0x18 > Uptime: 16m57s > Automatic reboot in 15 seconds - press a key on the console to abort > > > > > -- Bjoern A. The memory map on those systems has 2 large DRAM regions, one for each SoC.= The regions are non contiguous and IO memory that includes the PCI BARs for the= 2nd SoC is between those 2 regions. So the memory map looks like following DRAM region 0: 0x10000000000-0x1c000000000 IO memory(SoC1): 0x41000000000-0x050000000000 DRAM region 1: 0x50000000000-0x5c000000000 PHYS_IN_DMAP and VIRT_IN_DMAP macros in arm64 vmparam.h that inherently ass= ume that the DMAP region is contiguous with current implementation: /* True if pa is in the dmap range */ #define PHYS_IN_DMAP(pa) ((pa) >=3D DMAP_MIN_PHYSADDR && \ (pa) < DMAP_MAX_PHYSADDR) /* True if va is in the dmap range */ #define VIRT_IN_DMAP(va) ((va) >=3D DMAP_MIN_ADDRESS && \ (va) < (dmap_max_addr)) This causes the following check in sys/arm64/arm64/pmap.c, pmap_change_props_locked() to wrongly conclude that PCI memory is part of D= MAP: if (!VIRT_IN_DMAP(tmpva) && PHYS_IN_DMAP(pa)) { /* * Keep the DMAP memory in sync. */ rv =3D pmap_change_props_locked( PHYS_TO_DMAP(pa), pte_size, prot, mode, true); if (rv !=3D 0) return (rv); } And consequent lookup of this memory in DMAP page tables fails, as PCI memo= ry is not mapped in DMAP. Attached a proposed patch that stores a list of DMAP regions and changes the macros above to functions that check the address vs the list. (Based on https://reviews.freebsd.org/D3538) The instance boots properly after applying this patch. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From nobody Sun Apr 7 21:02:19 2024 X-Original-To: freebsd-arm@mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4VCPmq6Ljfz5HX8p for ; Sun, 7 Apr 2024 21:02:19 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "R3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4VCPmq2hZWz4sFf for ; Sun, 7 Apr 2024 21:02:19 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) ARC-Seal: i=1; s=dkim; d=freebsd.org; t=1712523739; a=rsa-sha256; cv=none; b=g7L1DDUA2rutc7dfOGmtTD/TC2o9iaVj0KO96K3ym2cu2snGx9mptoYHIJoGLJpAPCanWq 9CJHzDmJYzfEZl+gIN1jMfwb13oY6ISlDRtXvelARcmEmBuxaVd6XADFFVrI9K7+/v2Cdd 8snLt+bcjnVpRYX0+OL3JnEq3CYrRnDKr3P1ULJrUlkGF+iBqi7NySq+eDacyCdDNh9utj Ykit88eMN2AXMy2KWQVtsmmPSawOAtdzV/pDTJk51t94rWSQdAk1rdbgsd2wiH9H7DMjxD UZB3QJP8YsEqcNKpN90cfyMcR4Qx3kMnbdcoqnFrDF76qzGURLXL7/oLQBQy6Q== ARC-Authentication-Results: i=1; mx1.freebsd.org; none ARC-Message-Signature: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=freebsd.org; s=dkim; t=1712523739; h=from:from:reply-to:subject:subject:date:date:message-id:message-id: to:to:cc:mime-version:mime-version:content-type:content-type: content-transfer-encoding:content-transfer-encoding; bh=281aEM3QeN+eP3wWl2RidDU751ngwQtf33xldASLxlw=; b=rQ1tvSrFP5LyLdKP2vNQ4+8ti48VZquTEUOQYNxmXuhTC+1+XVTSB9l1u0nJhq6b13XWYc ubsWiazGovkQQ/o3MSZV/MaVftUMLyXyGSeaqPXAdePFqITg3DdoS4F8/h+R8STc/09tQV YZc62eRvqTWh4mKuJTDXniOjtOppfbXTBBm4DiuEzbbC1lkrGn9xwfc0WQ7gmksgcABG8a KjABttrxL9zsDdHkH2e/tSqyPvW0l7/HBCeRyNBRmdjH5Rtyj/8180mJpx3CdqDK4pZI19 8p9YmOQIdc6WwNCsiD2O68x8xV9llflPnGYm3/RmtqHVsAS4D4k+MpjiIq5tQA== Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4VCPmq2JXyzkC5 for ; Sun, 7 Apr 2024 21:02:19 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 437L2JYS017478 for ; Sun, 7 Apr 2024 21:02:19 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: (from bugzilla@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 437L2JiZ017465 for freebsd-arm@FreeBSD.org; Sun, 7 Apr 2024 21:02:19 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Message-Id: <202404072102.437L2JiZ017465@kenobi.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: bugzilla set sender to bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org To: freebsd-arm@FreeBSD.org Subject: Problem reports for freebsd-arm@FreeBSD.org that need special attention Date: Sun, 7 Apr 2024 21:02:19 +0000 List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to ARM processors List-Archive: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-arm List-Help: List-Post: List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: Sender: owner-freebsd-arm@freebsd.org MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="17125237390.8462980.89654" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit --17125237390.8462980.89654 Date: Sun, 7 Apr 2024 21:02:19 +0000 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" To view an individual PR, use: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=(Bug Id).
