What I've found is java.base/unix/native/libnio/ch/Net.c has a code section ifndef'ed to preve= nt BSD's from clearing the V6Only socket option. I suspect this was put in a VERY long time ago, maybe BSD didn't support the v6only stuff at the time, and has been forgotten. I have to setup a test environment because I don't want to test in my production environment.
