I'm trying to get started with Wazuh and I noticed a little glitch: pkg-message has a couple of "OPENSEARCH_JAVA_HOME=%%PREFIX%%/openjdk11", but Opensearch now requires 17+, so openjdk11 is not installed anymore, in favour of 17 (at least on my system). Copying and pasting the given command does not work. Especially, this leads to a silent failure in ./securityadmin.sh, as it calls Java with "2>/dev/null". Just FYI and thanks for your work. bye av. charset=UTF-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, First of all, thank you for resolving user's issue in the community. To be accurate, xrdp/xorg.conf is not a part of net/xrdp but x11-drivers/xorgxrdp. The changeset you suggested is only needed if users made local modifications to xrdp/xorg.conf because upstream and FreeBSD package already have such configurations. $ wget https://github.com/neutrinolabs/xorgxrdp/releases/download/v0.10.2/xorgxrdp-0.10.2.tar.gz $ tar zxf xorgxrdp-0.10.2.tar.gz $ grep GPU xorgxrdp-0.10.2/xrdpdev/xorg.conf Option "AutoAddGPU" "off" GPUDevice "" # pkg fetch xorgxrdp -o /tmp # cd /tmp/All # tar xf xorgxrdp-0.10.2_1.pkg # grep GPU etc/X11/xrdp/xorg.conf Option "AutoAddGPU" "off" GPUDevice "" xorgxrdp v0.9.20 doesn't have such configurations however upgrading from v0.9 to v0.10 wil automatically replace the new configuration file that includes the two lines you added and works fine unless there are local modifications to the config. There are very few cases where a user would need to edit xrdp/xorg.conf, few users will encounter the issue. I don't take users' issues lightly but the first thing users should try when something's going wrong is to try the factory default configuration. I would rather recommend the following steps. Then they can be aware of local modifications that they made. # pkg remove xorgxrdp # mv /etc/X11/xrdp/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xrdp/xorg.conf.bak # pkg install xorgxrdp On 2024/08/22 8:19, Hiroshi Nishida wrote: > To whom it may concern: > > As I (ScopeDog) posted to > https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/xrdp-does-not-show-the-gnome-gui.92174/#post-667635, remote desktop works with root but not with a non-root user. > > The solution is also described there but would you please apply the > following patch to /etc/X11/xrdp/xorg.conf? > > |@@ -12,6 +12,7 @@ Option "DefaultServerLayout" "X11 Server" Option > "DontVTSwitch" "on" Option "AutoAddDevices" "off" + Option "AutoAddGPU" > "off" EndSection Section "Module" @@ -57,6 +58,7 @@ Section "Screen" > Identifier "Screen (xrdpdev)" Device "Video Card (xrdpdev)" + GPUDevice > "" Monitor "Monitor" DefaultDepth 24 SubSection "Display"| > > > Thank you very much. > > -- > Hiroshi Nishida, PhD > ASUSA Corporation > nishida@asusa.net > -- meta From nobody Thu Aug 22 04:00:31 2024 X-Original-To: ports@mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4Wq8cc042wz5TTyT for ; Thu, 22 Aug 2024 04:00:32 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from portscout@FreeBSD.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "R11" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4Wq8cb2c3xz4jhM for ; Thu, 22 Aug 2024 04:00:31 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from portscout@FreeBSD.org) ARC-Seal: i=1; s=dkim; d=freebsd.org; t=1724299231; a=rsa-sha256; cv=none; b=Yi9WKsJjq/UHZgx52GT5ZfVlIdF3NU5W+t85uCp4JNbDqLpqF7rZr4FFCSmIM3MTSQu1jR qXcLDRmfBY5BjT+/0es+nqxVESbSnWi/TcqDYb2mFTa1jk/Efk1Vqmzja8oClAM6ZR+jWM oWQfwftIUy4yUazcg+9F8fNW96ts4vFD6kW15emWwWIjmxUnC8stuSh+QbwLQzdi07u39r /LwJ/ix6AqSTfIXUrNA0gHfdrhMg6Ot+Xnq3Rl6GSQ63EI+a7g5ZjydIE4/dtqfsgHjhsi WXYGXNX+sC6SDVDVVGnfTgxNiQUzsqjq5ojYLQNO/8ABBGGpEh85m0AG2I1qow== ARC-Authentication-Results: i=1; mx1.freebsd.org; none ARC-Message-Signature: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=freebsd.org; s=dkim; t=1724299231; h=from:from:reply-to:subject:subject:date:date:message-id:message-id: to:to:cc:mime-version:mime-version:content-type:content-type: content-transfer-encoding:content-transfer-encoding; bh=uDF0Gv6Ri63BwijoFTVqr9697BhD8T2TpUSADbElqs8=; b=sZlW7gPjKubvihxPvOQ5I/CePBK63xSMu7HMWbZMlddXrysLWdSAoWffQpjeVRHHJlKGAc 2jrCpOatazKAcYMH5w2q+e9whTAXOwFe4r3G9uZd44vYKDcRLgx5C18dR7iT2/cBDboeoa DXsjkXD7ISTGv2ZftYrmrHaaQKJ6PybNJdFTo79IR6lUPhhUeF1rru3wce9tdzeOEd9KLE dGrrqoblYuqHbeaZGhDazgWa9oNniR7KEbWEWvgww9yASZ3HDqVagn4EYmTaNZOc3/7r+3 G5qi3u48T7dBDHtjpH3lcfw5+TuMuvdEqVDGj5SjW75NB/VceT0KaOOgVd/gNA== Received: from portscout.nyi.freebsd.org (portscout.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:21]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4Wq8cb2Bxfz1BWN for ; Thu, 22 Aug 2024 04:00:31 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from portscout@FreeBSD.org) Received: from portscout.nyi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.10]) by portscout.nyi.freebsd.org (8.17.1/8.17.1) with ESMTP id 47M40VIQ031679 for ; Thu, 22 Aug 2024 04:00:31 GMT (envelope-from portscout@FreeBSD.org) Received: (from portscout@localhost) by portscout.nyi.freebsd.org (8.17.1/8.17.1/Submit) id 47M40Vvl031678; Thu, 22 Aug 2024 04:00:31 GMT (envelope-from portscout@FreeBSD.org) Message-Id: <202408220400.47M40Vvl031678@portscout.nyi.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: portscout.nyi.freebsd.org: portscout set sender to portscout@FreeBSD.org using -f Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Content-Type: text/plain List-Id: Porting software to FreeBSD List-Archive: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-ports List-Help: List-Post: List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-BeenThere: freebsd-ports@freebsd.org Sender: owner-freebsd-ports@FreeBSD.org MIME-Version: 1.0 Date: Thu, 22 Aug 2024 04:00:31 +0000 From: portscout@FreeBSD.org To: ports@freebsd.org Subject: Unmaintained FreeBSD ports which are out of date X-Mailer: portscout/0.8.1 Dear port maintainers, The portscout new distfile checker has detected that one or more unmaintained ports appears to be out of date. When make check-plist of qt6-5compat is run, it reports that there is a problem. This is a problem that only occurs when updating using a tool that behaves like portmaster, so if it doesn't work, delete qt6-svg and rebuild qt6-declarative. There seems to be a net/3proxy port; I haven't really tried it on FreeBSD, but it seemed to work on other OSs some years ago. Hope that helps! We use quarterly packages on all our machines and more and more often I see that something is broken in quarterly and the fix never makes it from HEAD to quarterly, or that a package in quarterly has a security vulnerability, the fix is in HEAD but no one merges the security fix into quarterly (e.g. Postgres). So increasingly I feel like quarterly serves no purpose except to freeze for three months, even if it's broken. I think if anything is broken in quarterly and the fix is known (in HEAD) it should be MFH. I know it is sometimes complicated because of cross dependencies, but other cases are simple. Are some rules for MFH to quarterly defined in handbook or somewhere else? Oh never mind, just before clicking send I decided to check Bugzilla and the discussion is all in there for more than a year already. https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=270565 And by serendipity a new builder is going live: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=270565#c40, so let's see what happens.
