Why freebsd not have initGfx like nomad?=20 and sound under HDMI-1 need to be performed under video driver? --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From nobody Wed Mar 27 19:04:41 2024 X-Original-To: wireless@mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4V4bh96SBkz5BJG4 for ; Wed, 27 Mar 2024 19:04:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "R3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4V4bh947bnz4cRS for ; Wed, 27 Mar 2024 19:04:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) ARC-Seal: i=1; s=dkim; d=freebsd.org; t=1711566281; a=rsa-sha256; cv=none; b=aNdnpo8Yfqn/VbQCZg/b83uXAkRkNuIkYH3L0Wa+iZe6khWLJ85feAs4/0u1G9RmInlk83 9wcO7GWLn27fJkapK+I/1JKLH2ukxDEUW+06iM9EjCbh/Hvf4Q6KSMuWTkETC+WouoYjS9 qUebB/nQf0wOKNF4Jgzy+S4rUBdKojVs5Br8eXtfyMxDk5+4JfiDc1MNMHLdruAfgphDL9 izPOytzknFa7S3y8GFQ85MJO3+Vf4cpJZ+wB11IWEm5YApjDITROVmZMjyGA7dgYDRAq1S JYBM8A9UsPlKVG23oujzulB6qCbbebqxtePdex4bGw0BOStvehRxUudY0zxzFA== ARC-Authentication-Results: i=1; mx1.freebsd.org; none ARC-Message-Signature: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=freebsd.org; s=dkim; t=1711566281; h=from:from:reply-to:subject:subject:date:date:message-id:message-id: to:to:cc:mime-version:mime-version:content-type:content-type: content-transfer-encoding:content-transfer-encoding; bh=U7tJ11A9kXPgNDN6ysQ54BefDnhKX5/G/xcu/Bl0rok=; b=vAjIagP47IrpPKWxs2gI+B1V9VIJV7M0ye782XOER01OYGeK3tFAze+aoBEgAvV1n8ANbW 2s6YRB4SlJE5h+bKyE9ut7kF4Tajn8sGotByfv06ASAHM4uLsCcOXEiOD7cnQPYxwn2t22 t+UBHteXYg09gmwsgYEr++cXN9y2WxP/IlnPSJz4+kUQA7aAkYruF/hd8EFGUT7lxz5qT3 SIYOWTw8qUeoiNp586U1OJdWTYidqtwHte+jSV5pF3XFF23PJhuq32O7uBj1CruZj8y/W1 b0SbRU7eqKiBFjn4BG8P0PC5YGx+Tla0hiBjUmHiSQUcF0S+dabGJAC/jCd4fQ== Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4V4bh93lY4zw3B for ; Wed, 27 Mar 2024 19:04:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 42RJ4fvM057870 for ; Wed, 27 Mar 2024 19:04:41 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 42RJ4fQE057863 for wireless@FreeBSD.org; Wed, 27 Mar 2024 19:04:41 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: wireless@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 277996] LinuxKPI w/ LKPI_80211_HW_CRYPTO: iwlwifi development: hw based encryption not work Date: Wed, 27 Mar 2024 19:04:41 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: new X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: wireless X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: cc@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: wireless@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: bug_id short_desc product version rep_platform op_sys bug_status bug_severity priority component assigned_to reporter attachments.created Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated List-Id: Discussions List-Archive: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-wireless List-Help: List-Post: List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: Sender: owner-freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org X-BeenThere: freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org MIME-Version: 1.0 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D277996 Bug ID: 277996 Summary: LinuxKPI w/ LKPI_80211_HW_CRYPTO: iwlwifi development: hw based encryption not work Product: Base System Version: CURRENT Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: wireless Assignee: wireless@FreeBSD.org Reporter: cc@FreeBSD.org Created attachment 249521 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3D249521&action= =3Dedit packet capture with hw based encryption On top of review D44463 (multi-key support), the current hw based encryptio= n is not working, although the unicast and broadcast keys are mapped correctly a= nd the corresponding hw keys are setup correctly. Zeeb --- (In reply to Piotr Pawel Stefaniak from comment #3) The lib/ version gets installed into /etc and etcupdate will update it. "Users" are not supposed to maintain it; "we are" like with any other bit FreeBSD is distributing. It's a lot of regulations to check sadly. Need to figure out a way to do a full once over check probably by now. While people in the past were also not entirely keen on the road Linux went down the wireless-regdb is ISC licensed and they do have references for the individual countries/parts of the world, so the links there are probably a = good start as well: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/wens/wireless-regdb.git/tre= e/ I also still feel like I want more indentation or "including" on our XML fi= le to make it more readable. The other thing I would love to find out is why we do split them up with the individual mode/flags. I once asked Sam and he said he had a good reason b= ut could not remember. Maybe someone else knows. As the "duplication" as-is = also makes it harder to maintain and the permutations we then generate go into t= he 100(s) if not 1000(s) by now and will only grow. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From nobody Fri Mar 29 15:47:03 2024 X-Original-To: wireless@mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4V5lCD3SMlz5DZQq for ; Fri, 29 Mar 2024 15:47:04 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "R3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4V5lCC5wklz4M5K for ; Fri, 29 Mar 2024 15:47:03 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) ARC-Seal: i=1; s=dkim; d=freebsd.org; t=1711727223; a=rsa-sha256; cv=none; b=yGoZqHzaXlpyL+AjZAFT9mMZRPP/uO+stvW7fhgURCQKl1jO5pKtYgKxyjS1vP3l9R07Ad KSAJKR2Kwl5Xcky3PL0xB0OiWnepUS+0rwnBsJA35oKoFOjvFSOiNX3dCXqQ0XRlW6B8bD HuvMv1LkbZPAAqbjomRPxLZ5+dgAGRc1MgfC3ta2W+SsPdg9L01JuU2WozJJ7asrgTBkVa LDA8q36cwAdoU6BZlrQQVcAuXF0nxWXnOE5wQxVYx2kU4emxlqxwPlBEPH06qAu69DaYxj Zyzo3h6pnq9pzR69ezap/SX+VWADCqGTA0SPUXJb57ChOmHZz2K7x2RspfrwGA== ARC-Authentication-Results: i=1; mx1.freebsd.org; none ARC-Message-Signature: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=freebsd.org; s=dkim; t=1711727223; h=from:from:reply-to:subject:subject:date:date:message-id:message-id: to:to:cc:mime-version:mime-version:content-type:content-type: content-transfer-encoding:content-transfer-encoding: in-reply-to:in-reply-to:references:references; bh=Y6JGCesyFuBpyQdX3WjwLXHCm5AbUNOtH2OextFwMwo=; b=REIw5JyldppajFK2cgI+2FtTt32ptvj7Br9b9JXAfiC6kvNAkJhTWV5liNLxDgNUafyl67 8j4pjSAsbg7cougwUIlx6PHKe6ZwwVIpbXbxCXtS8LfZMV4y2IUL3LdqOhEA7JcyMhnDof EUXpMTMm5sUjHnnODBYdT5pr1j5RhR+FJhXtGEBPoY6LOpfBvkOIHC+Gnd0pL/IBnj9cl5 45Kb4kfeWu+hDtWcV2LZDXcOsOI2SfoAIeWFgwiX3tcTpjuKJDcvfilyuJOZUy3GpXxpew a9UUMQ/MRga+m28SmqNXlOsaxhzTOLU6t7AVKGrw3xDn6spHhYGVOyBfATY5RA== Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4V5lCC5WyrzGvC for ; Fri, 29 Mar 2024 15:47:03 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 42TFl34J078803 for ; Fri, 29 Mar 2024 15:47:03 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 42TFl3ix078801 for wireless@FreeBSD.org; Fri, 29 Mar 2024 15:47:03 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: wireless@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 278017] Wireless 11a high channels not available for use (missing in lib/lib80211/regdomain.xml) Date: Fri, 29 Mar 2024 15:47:03 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: wireless X-Bugzilla-Version: CURRENT X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: bz@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: wireless@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: assigned_to Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated List-Id: Discussions List-Archive: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-wireless List-Help: List-Post: List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: Sender: owner-freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org X-BeenThere: freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org MIME-Version: 1.0 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D278017 Bjoern A. It made searching easier (same as the ah_regdomain code) as you're looking = for highest op mode, frequency width within bounds, flags matching some mask, e= tc. You didn't need to put anything other than range/mask operations in your regdomain code. I am however not married to it at all. Honestly, I'd rather we had a way to convert the wireless reg.db stuff to xml in the short term and then find a = way to replace it entirely. Also when reporting bugs like this, please do list which regdomain you ARE = in so we can see whether it's just lacking or missing. I know it's likely lack= ing in a lot of places, but eg FCC vs FCC3 are different regdomains because of = how APs vs STAs behave (FCC3 includes the AP channels that require DFS, for example..) --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. Zeeb changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |bz@FreeBSD.org Status|New |Open Blocks| |273620 --- Comment #5 from Bjoern A. Zeeb --- (In reply to Cheng Cui from comment #4) The "WRT: Invalid buffer destination" are because for (unknown) reasons the firmware disabled various debug buffers. We've had this while discussing the HT fw assertions in February. It's so much in the log because he issues a service netif restart and the V= AP (wlan interface) gets destroyed and re-created. Eirik, it's really hard to debug it like this. Not sure if we tried in the past or with someone else given this is a Ubiquity again? If ifconfig wlan0 scan as su does not help (wpa_cli scan), it would be interesting to know if ifconfig wlan0 down && sleep 1 && ifconfig wlan0 up helps (instead of serivce restart). it would be helpful if could add at least one -d to the wpa_supplicant flag= s in rc.conf to get a bit more logging. Of course it would be interesting to see if the AP has logs of these events too. can you ssh into the AP and check? Zeeb from comment #5) I have two -d's in rc.conf right now, you want more than that? Also there are no debug logs of any kind available on the Amplifi HD :( Now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen this happening in the office, where we have more "pro-grade" wifi APs (Ubiquiti, so same maker, but quite different class). It's also worth mentioning I have two APs in the house, one on each floor, = and they're linked by gbit ethernet. So no fancy matrix stuff, just "ethernet backbone", in Amplify-speak. In my usual position in the house, the seconda= ry AP is also visible in a scan, I don't know if this is relevant? In light of the above, documentation states I have the following "advanced" options available to me: *A-MSDU for wireless clients Improves wireless clients throughput 802.11r - Fast BSS Transition Faster authentication when roaming *802.11k - Neighbor Report Improves AP scan speed *802.11v - BSS Transition Management Directs stations to better AP * =3D currently enabled. Fun fact: STP is an optional feature, and disabled by default. For what I personally can say: - my plan was and is to keep net80211 driving wireless and be our wireless stack. That means the general standard work would go into net80211. - LinuxKPI is and will stay a compat layer converting between the two worlds. This means that a native driver could also make use of current and future development, support for newer standards, etc. as they arive in net80211. Hope that clarifies that question? This occurs every time the wifi connection is configured, up and being acti= vely used, but the precise timing varies. It appears to be related to the overall volume of traffic. The panic sometimes occurs within minutes of cold boot, sometimes up to a quarter of an hour later. This issue appears to be specific to FreeBSD 13.3. It does not arise on the same machine running a fresh install of FreeBSD 13.2 (which runs regularly = for at least 8h under heavy wifi load with no issues). Nor does the difference appear to be due to configuration issues. Under both FreeBSD 13.2 and 13.3,= I use a custom kernel where the only change from GENERIC is to enable options= for BWN_DEBUG and BWN_GPL_PHY. Both machines have correct firmware installed by building the port net/bwn-firmware-kmod with no special options. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From nobody Sun Mar 31 21:00:47 2024 X-Original-To: wireless@mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4V764J3K3Cz5GQNs for ; Sun, 31 Mar 2024 21:00:48 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "R3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4V764H6Csfz4fTR for ; Sun, 31 Mar 2024 21:00:47 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) ARC-Seal: i=1; s=dkim; d=freebsd.org; t=1711918847; a=rsa-sha256; cv=none; b=JR6BFwZqL84PjNL06E6GTqkN32O9JQE6iqpb8ukFDrU+G3g4G8VbE6GnfcA4Qx08v31vjW Hp6KHME+kSVvCVaHVwOmCKCqapbxuXS6AoqNROHN+6SuGRQCDRjUMdko0vkmOVHURk7c42 w+6/U31wHEPN7jOBCJyWhEev+ke7G6fUy2xd93Iwa9zw5Jn4ZVbj3Ed4riUyGsnY3ajsgz SKPWCTRzIFAlzWrKC2TReeDxyYAkQ0WROqvOffrbSKKF+zgc6jE+1aOyMUBfQoFYpHe03H IrgeWWbqApO3WUyZT8fxEs5YfN+IFfEoHQF2Ffsdt4uXoBxiNcrylBpFe5RVAA== ARC-Authentication-Results: i=1; mx1.freebsd.org; none ARC-Message-Signature: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=freebsd.org; s=dkim; t=1711918847; h=from:from:reply-to:subject:subject:date:date:message-id:message-id: to:to:cc:mime-version:mime-version:content-type:content-type: content-transfer-encoding:content-transfer-encoding; bh=ZxuJNfE12aUZ3HE3TRs9m3jtmExCf8phwfn1hIR3Ybw=; b=j2hVv0l/eguL6CWfTl237t93qx/kgo88EUJqE1i41rRv+LeNgjMm0wi7CRpxI0nEGH16mg 69hPrR+7yeOWb4cB09ZTQbbl6F4KMm0UmHWHxWAD3d8EDiAISd7gbzxbup3WhWqKpwWoAe GqRLy3fVRHv2+dyHu13ScU7+IrueS7ocAyuQ8esU3YZTdKgiDfhUB6o/gXYdxD/MVHXa4g vIbXlgS/QgtF3MEeA5wkJS4vcbph6fihygne/CAVWDzm+NclMW1m1TRJNmG7LQHXPEb8dH PN44KdZFPhfgoBnLAjsAtLJCqUxb2tJ3PCFgEv5kgE8W3KHayGmK7R2IiOSFSg== Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4V764H5rSYztDq for ; Sun, 31 Mar 2024 21:00:47 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 42VL0lWl085170 for ; Sun, 31 Mar 2024 21:00:47 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Received: (from bugzilla@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 42VL0lCK085169 for wireless@FreeBSD.org; Sun, 31 Mar 2024 21:00:47 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org) Message-Id: <202403312100.42VL0lCK085169@kenobi.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: bugzilla set sender to bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@FreeBSD.org To: wireless@FreeBSD.org Subject: Problem reports for wireless@FreeBSD.org that need special attention Date: Sun, 31 Mar 2024 21:00:47 +0000 List-Id: Discussions List-Archive: https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-wireless List-Help: List-Post: List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: Sender: owner-freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org X-BeenThere: freebsd-wireless@freebsd.org MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="17119188477.180201b5.73575" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit --17119188477.180201b5.73575 Date: Sun, 31 Mar 2024 21:00:47 +0000 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" To view an individual PR, use: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=(Bug Id).
