Currently tested only on stable/14. Release information: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/217149/en-us/ Attached patch includes support for building / installing latest beta branch driver 550.40.07. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/218121/en-us/ In 550 series of linux driver bumped 2 libraries async from DISTVERSION, so addidional support was needed. Note that although Release Highlights of 550.40.07 states "Added support for nvidia-drm on FreeBSD via linuxkpi.", nvidia-drm.kmod is not built with thi= s. Further investigation is needed, but it beyonds me at least for now. And considerations for migrating graphics/nvidia-drm-*-kmod or not would be required once 550 or newer driver becomes production in the future. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.= From nobody Tue Feb 13 23:50:21 2024 X-Original-To: x11@mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mlmmj.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4TZJ3d2Br9z5B6Sp for ; Tue, 13 Feb 2024 23:50:21 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "R3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4TZJ3d1BWzz4mwy for ; Tue, 13 Feb 2024 23:50:21 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) ARC-Seal: i=1; s=dkim; d=freebsd.org; t=1707868221; a=rsa-sha256; cv=none; b=VrDh+EV4P13lPk73A6yxX61714P7ulCuFTIUXWZcO9OqMhGeAGuu+G6Jem7NlgFRLyD7Cf pu6nucUjxsjIA9WgGNxWaE3SBhGt9PhWrbprAbvg3Z6pXukuiSXqaLPZ6xdwlOdZLDUZti 5b9vHO1gjVNcC1w5EZ06tAt+eIGcSWnt9lCOHbnk2pAEhlL7krnBEzSf8QohZSmZV9fIij 2NSPJEqojkuH8yspZkjuNmKGAzpSt/P7NWg9p4Ks4D9bePp6URvZe2Vvh0Hu1YQ6x80CVQ QIURIeHab/ItXf9nRX5D9SjNnY2lRR0kl2C+J6j8UxDzvt9ixpC7xB68uPSrLQ== ARC-Authentication-Results: i=1; mx1.freebsd.org; none ARC-Message-Signature: i=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=freebsd.org; s=dkim; t=1707868221; h=from:from:reply-to:subject:subject:date:date:message-id:message-id: to:to:cc:mime-version:mime-version:content-type:content-type: content-transfer-encoding:content-transfer-encoding: in-reply-to:in-reply-to:references:references; bh=1imzCYrJZMegJPlz73AZpkFYCLUviNQF+YzNegkc5GM=; b=f0jtcyCgboC4jAUyKb2wAo/LVl1NPFVpTTGtJ+ahmZ4Rq9V7vg6X/+DRrrU59GHID6I46U rC7pRw8zDRugbBPsfPuavQSN5zUMGhT2KGRhPG1lF02LJqKUldbXDza8a5OKtSmgRz7tB/ /4RJ8I66b2nV/gNfeGGpKsM/x/7778oOzGBtALP9ZlRG7cwU1GUYSeQFvu9Z8RyO54g0YE mrheIEZE7bu2tvZOej1GT5GWxhzc95BbMyUBGwogxaJ1C1rEiP72nnKQnDV07sXla/KUag xjUaPJcOhElIJkukYTwJX3V1wSSKNxTM2q1mKHac5wyV03vKeWBwtDjRiILVaA== Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4TZJ3d09hzzbRh for ; Tue, 13 Feb 2024 23:50:21 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 41DNoKMA093592 for ; Tue, 13 Feb 2024 23:50:20 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 41DNoKpY093586 for x11@FreeBSD.org; Tue, 13 Feb 2024 23:50:20 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: x11@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 276451] graphics/gpu-firmware-intel-kmod: causes loading of i915kms to lock system hard Date: Tue, 13 Feb 2024 23:50:21 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: portmaster@bsdforge.com X-Bugzilla-Status: Closed X-Bugzilla-Resolution: Not A Bug X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: x11@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback? Basically, it works as intended, however, sometimes user unknowingly zooms into part of screen. While relatively easy, all that's necessary is unzoom it using two fingers (the same way as used on smartphones), it scares this user a bit. So the best way to handle it would be not allowing zoom to occur. Is there a method to do this? Some configuration of X? My setup uses webcamd to create event file for touch screen and libinput driver to handle input event in X. After installing x11/xev, trying xev, I see a bunch of events being reported. Not easy to navigate through :) However, doing some more tests, I found it is probably somehow handled a bit higher - this zoom feature is not available in terminal, mailer, pdf viewer. I can use it in all browsers I use - minibrowser from GTK port, badwolf and luakit. In xev, I see just ButtonPress, sequence of MotionNotify, ButtonRelease events. Maybe if I can attach xev to browser window, things could be somewhat different, question is how can find window id I can use in xev invocation.
