If people are still having this problem, the first thing to try, as mention=
ed
also in the GitHub issue, is to suspend and resume after having set sysctl
`kern.vt.suspendswitch` to 0.  If, after resume, hardware acceleration is s=
till
on, then this bug would most probably be a duplicate of bug #271995, which
mentions a different GPU (Intel UHD Graphics 620 there, AMD RX 580 here) but
otherwise a similar scenario and where setting the sysctl actually makes a
difference.

If the problem still exists, trying with a recent release (e.g., 14.1) woul=
d be
a second step.
