Would it be possible to check with Tim O'Reilly to see if he'd be interested in a print run based on a preorder amount? I'm definitely willing to prepay before actual publication for something like that. Although this is probably not a problem for a CD user, it can be quite annoying for Joe 14.4k modem user. Thus, I propose adding two more fields, ports required for building (FETCH_DEPENDS, BUILD_DEPENDS, LIB_DEPENDS, DEPENDS) and ports required for running (RUN_DEPENDS, LIB_DEPENDS, DEPENDS -- this one is identical to the @pkgdep lines in the package), to the ports/INDEX file. Of course, I'm assuming John will modify his webpage auto-update software to put this information on freefall's ports collection page. :) Satoshi From owner-freebsd-doc Fri Nov 17 19:15:25 1995 Return-Path: owner-doc Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.6.12/8.6.6) id TAA15130 for doc-outgoing; Fri, 17 Nov 1995 19:15:25 -0800 Received: from fieber-john.campusview.indiana.edu (Fieber-John.campusview.indiana.edu [149.159.1.34]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.6.12/8.6.6) with ESMTP id TAA15106 ; Fri, 17 Nov 1995 19:15:15 -0800 Received: (from jfieber@localhost) by fieber-john.campusview.indiana.edu (8.6.12/8.6.12) id WAA00683; Fri, 17 Nov 1995 22:15:04 -0500 Date: Fri, 17 Nov 1995 22:15:04 -0500 (EST) From: John Fieber X-Sender: jfieber@fieber-john.campusview.indiana.edu To: Satoshi Asami cc: ports@freebsd.org, doc@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Proposal 2: adding dependency to ports/INDEX In-Reply-To: <199511171717.JAA00931@silvia.HIP.Berkeley.EDU> Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-doc@freebsd.org Precedence: bulk On Fri, 17 Nov 1995, Satoshi Asami wrote: > Of course, I'm assuming John will modify his webpage auto-update > software to put this information on freefall's ports collection > page. :) Sure, but do give me a little warning.
