Huh?

The question was about chfn(1) here...:

beforeinstall:
        [ ! -e ${DESTDIR}${BINDIR}/chpass ] || \
                chflags noschg ${DESTDIR}${BINDIR}/chpass

afterinstall:
        chflags schg ${DESTDIR}${BINDIR}/chpass


Well, there are two reasons why i think this could fail:

o somebody has raised kern.securelevel (e.g. with sysctl(8))
o somebody broke the hard link between chfn and chpass, so the
  above "chflags noschg" didn't alter chfn, only chpass
