You can easily make make continue on with things that aren't broken simply by using the ``-k'' flag. When doing a make world, I always have the environment variable set like this (tcsh -- sh uses a different syntax, of course): setenv MAKEFLAGS '-k' I also have all stdout and stderr directed to a large log file. Then I can review the file when everything is finished, and see if anything important broke that requires my attention. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael L. Has anyone who is being bothered by this dumped the fs > with *tar* (not dump) and resored to see if that fixes the problem? I completely reinstalled everything (wiped the disk, even did a low-level SCSI format) - the problem always resurfaced. Although, it didn't show up again for maybe two or three days. - Dave Rivers - From owner-freebsd-stable Fri Nov 22 09:45:48 1996 Return-Path: owner-stable Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.7.5/8.7.3) id JAA06094 for stable-outgoing; Fri, 22 Nov 1996 09:45:48 -0800 (PST) Received: from precipice.shockwave.com (ppp-206-170-5-50.rdcy01.pacbell.net [206.170.5.50]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.7.5/8.7.3) with ESMTP id JAA06082 for ; Fri, 22 Nov 1996 09:45:45 -0800 (PST) Received: from shockwave.com (localhost.shockwave.com [127.0.0.1]) by precipice.shockwave.com (8.8.3/8.7.3) with ESMTP id JAA06363; Fri, 22 Nov 1996 09:44:27 -0800 (PST) Message-Id: <199611221744.JAA06363@precipice.shockwave.com> To: Nate Williams cc: Tom Samplonius , stable@freebsd.org, guido@gvr.win.tue.nl Subject: Re: Announce: Sendmail 8.8.3 in stable In-reply-to: Your message of "Fri, 22 Nov 1996 08:48:59 MST." <199611221548.IAA16914@rocky.mt.sri.com> Date: Fri, 22 Nov 1996 09:44:27 -0800 From: Paul Traina Sender: owner-stable@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk From: Nate Williams Subject: Re: Announce: Sendmail 8.8.3 in stable > I've passed off diffs for the hard part of the bind update to peter > for review, however there's no need to upgrade to 4.9.5, just apply > the patch (which I think I also applied to stable yesterday).
