Larry's build was looking for it in a different place; it looks like at one time there was a gdb.1 under gnu/usr.bin/gdb/gdb, but it is now in the attic - probably from when gdb was moved under contrib. So hopefully this is just a case of a crufty .depend file lying around! Maybe a make cleandepend; make clean in /usr/src would help? If you have a local CVS repository, checking out a new tree would be ideal. You could also just blow away the gdb part of the tree and cvsup again to bring it back. Hope this helps, -Chris On Mon, 10 Mar 1997, Jordan K. John Polstra mentioned that this could be a problem due to bugs in releases prior to 14.1.1 of CVSup. SO, if you are seeing odd problems with CVSup, and don't have the most recent version: opus:/var/tmp> cvsup -v CVSup client Software version: REL_14_1_1 Protocol version: 14.0 Then get it! ftp://freefall.freebsd.org/pub/CVSup/cvsup-bin-14.1.1.tar.gz And PARTICULARLY CRITICAL is that all of the mirrors are running the corresponding cvsupd, but I don't think JDP would head out on vacation if that weren't the case. -Chris On Mon, 10 Mar 1997, Brian N. I've also changed httpd from Spinner to Apache, so the pages are nowadays located at instead of . Redirection is enabled, but the link might as well be changed on the main page by whoever is responsible for it. -Olof From owner-freebsd-hubs Fri Mar 14 11:09:47 1997 Return-Path: Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.8.5/8.8.5) id LAA05897 for hubs-outgoing; Fri, 14 Mar 1997 11:09:47 -0800 (PST) Received: from Campino.Informatik.RWTH-Aachen.DE (campino.Informatik.RWTH-Aachen.DE [137.226.116.240]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.8.5/8.8.5) with ESMTP id LAA05886 for ; Fri, 14 Mar 1997 11:09:39 -0800 (PST) Received: from gilberto.physik.rwth-aachen.de (gilberto.physik.rwth-aachen.de [137.226.31.2]) by Campino.Informatik.RWTH-Aachen.DE (RBI-Z-5/8.6.12) with ESMTP id UAA16708 for ; Fri, 14 Mar 1997 20:10:36 +0100 (MET) Received: (from kuku@localhost) by gilberto.physik.rwth-aachen.de (8.8.5/8.6.9) id UAA10051 for freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org; Fri, 14 Mar 1997 20:16:12 +0100 (MET) Date: Fri, 14 Mar 1997 20:16:12 +0100 (MET) From: Christoph Kukulies Message-Id: <199703141916.UAA10051@gilberto.physik.rwth-aachen.de> To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Subject: wget Sender: owner-hubs@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Since mirroring is still a pain I wanted to give wget a try. It seems that my mirror is fetching unnecessarily things everyday again again and again. It runs over 22 hours on my P133 (AMD) machine (64MB) and fetched around 84000 files everyday. There still seems something broken with timestamping (timezone) or the like. But wget doesn't seem to have a good option to exclude export restricted stuff. It has -X list (where list is a list of directories to exclude). That means one has to know the complete paths beforehand. This ain't no good when a new SNAP appears with des or secure directories in it. They would be fetched unless e clever script would determine the exclude list and pass it to wget dynamically. Does anyone know of other mirror software I could try. Or could someone help me to locate the problem? -- Chris Christoph P. U. I posted a few weeks ago a request for comments on moving des out of the basic distribution so that you would have 2.2-RELEASE/des/ -> ../des/2.2-RELEASE/ This would solve the problem. Unfortunately, the silence was quiet deafening. However, Jordan *could* take the silence to be 0% complaints from the USA people. Jordan did expect the USA mirrors to cry out against this, but phht! Nothing! Christof, please voice your agreement for my suggestion. It is probably too late for 2.2-RELEASE, but better late than never. That said, there *is* a -X flag in wget which allows you to exclude directories. regards, Danny
