Consider it a feature. Now you can get ahold of the CVS repository later (or have it available over NFS) and cvs update your existing ports collection. :-) Jordan P.S. These represent problem reports covering all versions including experimental development code and obsolete releases. Bugs can be in one of several states: o - open A problem report has been submitted, no sanity checking performed. a - analyzed The report has been examined by a team member and evaluated. f - feedback The problem has been solved, and the originator has been given a patch or a fix has been committed. The PR remains in this state pending a response from the originator. s - suspended Work on the problem has been postponed. This happens if a timely solution is not possible or is not cost-effective at the present time. The PR continues to exist, though a solution is not being actively sought. If the problem cannot be solved at all, it will be closed, rather than suspended. c - closed A problem report is closed when any changes have been integrated, documented, and tested. OK, that's true. Does the new port get bigger with every supported language? It is meant as a replacement for the entire sendmail-binmail system on typical Internet-connected UNIX hosts. qmailanalog is a collection of tools to help you analyze qmail-send's activity record. It supplies statistics to answer a wide variety of questions: * basic statistics: how many messages? recipients? attempts? etc. * ddist: how soon were 50% of the messages delivered? 90%? 95%? 99%? * rxdelay: what's the best order of recipients for mailing lists? * recipients, rhosts: who's getting mail? bytes? messages? attempts? * successes, failures, deferrals: why? how often? how much delay? * senders, suids: messages? bytes? load? recipients? attempts? delay? The package also includes accustamp, which puts a precise timestamp on each line of input. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-ports Mon Mar 17 18:10:08 1997 Return-Path: Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.8.5/8.8.5) id SAA23933 for ports-outgoing; Mon, 17 Mar 1997 18:10:08 -0800 (PST) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.8.5/8.8.5) id SAA23927; Mon, 17 Mar 1997 18:10:04 -0800 (PST) Resent-Date: Mon, 17 Mar 1997 18:10:04 -0800 (PST) Resent-Message-Id: <199703180210.SAA23927@freefall.freebsd.org> Resent-From: gnats (GNATS Management) Resent-To: freebsd-ports Resent-Reply-To: FreeBSD-gnats@freefall.FreeBSD.org, Received:(from nobody@localhost) by.freefall.freebsd.org.id.SAA23722;Mon; (8.8.5/8.8.5);, 17 Mar 1997 18:06:33.-0800 (PST) Message-Id: <199703180206.SAA23722@freefall.freebsd.org> Date: Mon, 17 Mar 1997 18:06:33 -0800 (PST) From: taguchi@tohoku.iij.ad.jp To: freebsd-gnats-submit@freebsd.org X-Send-Pr-Version: www-1.0 Subject: ports/3013: PLIST files for tk42 and jp-tk42 ports are broken Sender: owner-ports@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk >Number: 3013 >Category: ports >Synopsis: PLIST files for tk42 and jp-tk42 ports are broken >Confidential: no >Severity: serious >Priority: medium >Responsible: freebsd-ports >State: open >Class: sw-bug >Submitter-Id: current-users >Arrival-Date: Mon Mar 17 18:10:02 PST 1997 >Last-Modified: >Originator: Taguchi, Takeshi >Organization: IIJ TOHOKU >Release: 2.2 and 3.0 >Environment: FreeBSD hirose.tohoku.iij.ad.jp 2.2-GAMMA FreeBSD 2.2-GAMMA #0: Sat Mar 15 11:27:13 JST 1997 root@hirose.tohoku.iij.ad.jp:/usr/src/sys/compile/MEGU i386 >Description: PLIST files in ${PORTSDIR}/x11/tk42 and ${PORTSDIR}/japanese/tk42 do NOT contain some files. # Sorry, I forgot them... I think what the poster was really asking is the same question I've often asked: Why isn't the *SUN* JDK distribution a proper port? Note that sources are not necessary at all to make a port - they're just ONE way... I would like to see a port of Jeff Hsu's jdk in the ports collection, but I'm not willing to do it myself (I don't use java) so I can only hope... :) Jordan From owner-freebsd-ports Tue Mar 18 23:03:56 1997 Return-Path: Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.8.5/8.8.5) id XAA07919 for ports-outgoing; Tue, 18 Mar 1997 23:03:56 -0800 (PST) Received: from Campino.Informatik.RWTH-Aachen.DE (campino.Informatik.RWTH-Aachen.DE [137.226.116.240]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.8.5/8.8.5) with ESMTP id XAA07914 for ; Tue, 18 Mar 1997 23:03:50 -0800 (PST) Received: from gilberto.physik.rwth-aachen.de (gilberto.physik.rwth-aachen.de [137.226.31.2]) by Campino.Informatik.RWTH-Aachen.DE (RBI-Z-5/8.6.12) with ESMTP id IAA23239; Wed, 19 Mar 1997 08:03:46 +0100 (MET) Received: (from kuku@localhost) by gilberto.physik.rwth-aachen.de (8.8.5/8.6.9) id IAA22755; Wed, 19 Mar 1997 08:12:11 +0100 (MET) From: Christoph Kukulies Message-Id: <199703190712.IAA22755@gilberto.physik.rwth-aachen.de> Subject: Re: about java In-Reply-To: <332F63A2.3AA0@fps.biblos.unal.edu.co> from Pedro Giffuni at "Mar 18, 97 07:55:15 pm" To: pgiffuni@fps.biblos.unal.edu.co (Pedro Giffuni) Date: Wed, 19 Mar 1997 08:12:11 +0100 (MET) Cc: joerg_wunsch@uriah.heep.sax.de, freebsd-ports@freebsd.org Reply-To: Christoph Kukulies X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4ME+ PL28 (25)] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-ports@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk > J Wunsch wrote: > > > > As Christoph Kukulies wrote: > > > > > Or get (Jeffrey Hsu's native port of) > > > > > > ftp://freefall.FreeBSD.org:/pub/FreeBSD/LOCAL_PORTS/jdk102.tar.gz > > > > I always wondered why this ain't an official FreeBSD port. A port itself would neither constitute any kind of redistribution. It must probably be NO_CDROM. This release is considered a maintenance release and is intended to fix a small set of specific problems. These problems include all bugs fixed in the 3.95 patch released last month as well as a security hole in both the imapd and ipopd daemons distributed in the Pine 3.95 release. If you are not running the IMAP or POP daemons distributed with a previous release and you are not experiencing the problems addressed in the 3.95 patch, then upgrading to this latest release may not be necessary. The complete list of changes and improvements, as well as general information about Pine, can be found via the built-in release notes ("R" off the Main Menu) and via: http://www.cac.washington.edu/pine and: ftp://ftp.cac.washington.edu/pine/docs This release should be considered more stable than its predecessors, though you should be sure to verify for yourself that this is the case in your specific environment before placing it into production use. That's the problem, it's port dependend i think. However, most of the progs, which have audio suppor have a switch to compile it with NAS support instead of /dev/audio. The ports I've tested are xboing, xgalaga, xfaces, mpeg_play (don't remember more in the moment). All of these only need the NAS package installed and a flag set in the I/Makefile. Perhaps it would be more simple to have an directory called NAS with a special configure script for each NAS-able port, and links to the 'normal' port files without NAS. The corresponding packages could be called xboing-2.3-nas.tgz for egsample. So the only work which have to be done is to lock at the ports and write the small configure/patch file which enables NAS for the prog. However, Emacs doesn't use the standard cc to link the executable (it would have prevented to load the shared libgcc), but has its own idea to run ld. Install the compat20 distribution as a workaround. -- cheers, J"org joerg_wunsch@uriah.heep.sax.de -- http://www.sax.de/~joerg/ -- NIC: JW11-RIPE Never trust an operating system you don't have sources for. ;-) From owner-freebsd-ports Sat Mar 22 15:30:09 1997 Return-Path: Received: (from root@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.8.5/8.8.5) id PAA06900 for ports-outgoing; Sat, 22 Mar 1997 15:30:09 -0800 (PST) Received: (from gnats@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.8.5/8.8.5) id PAA06891; Sat, 22 Mar 1997 15:30:05 -0800 (PST) Date: Sat, 22 Mar 1997 15:30:05 -0800 (PST) Message-Id: <199703222330.PAA06891@freefall.freebsd.org> To: freebsd-ports Cc: From: Pedro Giffuni Subject: Re: ports/2913: DOS 32bit cross-development environment (Experimental new port) Reply-To: Pedro Giffuni Sender: owner-ports@FreeBSD.ORG X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk The following reply was made to PR ports/2913; it has been noted by GNATS.
