It seemed that the size of the window wasn't enough so then you pressed a menuitem it automaticly was over the first item in that menu and of course then you released the button it thought that you have pressed it. I don't know if this is a jdk-freebsd bug or a swingbug (I haven't seen it then i tried it on a solaris machine).
