The behavior i am observing occurs when I run either the appletviewer or attempt to run jave through Netscape 4.06. Do we have a FreeBSD-PPC port? My reading of the release was that this was a Power-PC code generator. Linux has a PPC port (or two), so it's useful there. {Net,Open}BSD could probably make use of it too, but I doubt that it's of much interest to FreeBSD. -- Andrew To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-java Tue Sep 29 13:47:08 1998 Return-Path: Received: (from majordom@localhost) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) id NAA06310 for freebsd-java-outgoing; Tue, 29 Sep 1998 13:47:08 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG) Received: from mercury.Sun.COM (mercury.Sun.COM [192.9.25.1]) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) with SMTP id NAA06224 for ; Tue, 29 Sep 1998 13:46:43 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from alk@East.Sun.COM) Received: from East.Sun.COM ([129.148.1.241]) by mercury.Sun.COM (SMI-8.6/mail.byaddr) with SMTP id NAA16555; Tue, 29 Sep 1998 13:46:13 -0700 Received: from suneast.East.Sun.COM by East.Sun.COM (SMI-8.6/SMI-5.3) id QAA21359; Tue, 29 Sep 1998 16:45:47 -0400 Received: from east.sun.com by suneast.East.Sun.COM (SMI-8.6/SMI-SVR4) id QAA22414; Tue, 29 Sep 1998 16:44:57 -0400 Received: (from alk@localhost) by east.sun.com (8.9.1/8.7.3) id PAA24714; Tue, 29 Sep 1998 15:43:05 -0500 (CDT) From: Tony Kimball MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Date: Tue, 29 Sep 1998 15:43:05 -0500 (CDT) X-Face: O9M"E%K;(f-Go/XDxL+pCxI5*gr[=FN@Y`cl1.Tn Reply-To: alk@pobox.com To: hasty@rah.star-gate.com Cc: freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: JDK1.1.7 binaries for Solaris and Winxx are available References: <199809290458.VAA05333@rah.star-gate.com> X-Mailer: VM 6.43 under 20.4 "Emerald" XEmacs Lucid Message-ID: <13841.17652.433644.372344@avalon.east> Sender: owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Quoth Amancio Hasty on Mon, 28 September: : : So now the question is when is Sun going to make the sources to : jdk 1.1.7 available... (See http://java.sun.com/nav/business/source.html.) Actually, I just checked, and the license is the same. (Cause I sent in the old license, and it's the same as the previous license, which is the same as the all 1.1 licenses.) I also spoke with some some licensees, and they were only required to sign the one license, and haven't been asked to continually sign licenses. That being said, if you all wouldn't mind it would be 'safer' if you submitted a new license agreement. It also means that you can get the sources earlier and start porting before I get it into the CVS tree. :) Nate To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-java Thu Oct 1 20:35:15 1998 Return-Path: Received: (from majordom@localhost) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) id UAA19959 for freebsd-java-outgoing; Thu, 1 Oct 1998 20:35:15 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG) Received: from ns.mt.sri.com (sri-gw.MT.net [206.127.105.141]) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id UAA19946 for ; Thu, 1 Oct 1998 20:35:10 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from nate@mt.sri.com) Received: from mt.sri.com (rocky.mt.sri.com [206.127.76.100]) by ns.mt.sri.com (8.8.8/8.8.8) with SMTP id VAA06389; Thu, 1 Oct 1998 21:34:54 -0600 (MDT) (envelope-from nate@rocky.mt.sri.com) Received: by mt.sri.com (SMI-8.6/SMI-SVR4) id VAA13757; Thu, 1 Oct 1998 21:34:53 -0600 Date: Thu, 1 Oct 1998 21:34:53 -0600 Message-Id: <199810020334.VAA13757@mt.sri.com> From: Nate Williams MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit To: Chuck Robey Cc: freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: Java In-Reply-To: References: X-Mailer: VM 6.34 under 19.16 "Lille" XEmacs Lucid Sender: owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org [ moved to freebsd-java, there's a mailing list for everything ] > I suddenly need java for a school project (I need jdbc). I've been using the variation incantaions on FreeBSD for *real* paying works for over a year now, which is why I'm the 'point of contact' and release engineer for the JDK/FreeBSD builds. I moved our Solaris boxes over the JDK1.1.7, and I've not had any problems with interactions between the programs on both boxes.
