Also use top in another session and try and figure out what it is consuming. If you find one too low, then use ulimit(1) to up it, they are generally soft up to a point. You may need to bribe your ISP to get them improved. Having said all that, I'm not sure what the story is with FreeBSD 2.2.8, but on FreeBSD 3, the limits are set too low for ordinary users doing serious activity. iang To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-java Mon Jun 28 3:53:21 1999 Delivered-To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Received: from falbala.informatik.uni-kiel.de (falbala.informatik.uni-kiel.de [134.245.248.202]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B3C0814D4F for ; Mon, 28 Jun 1999 03:52:59 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from nr@techfak.uni-kiel.de) Received: from hope.techfak.uni-kiel.de (hope.techfak.uni-kiel.de [134.245.244.140]) by falbala.informatik.uni-kiel.de (8.9.1/8.9.1) with ESMTP id MAA04383 for ; Mon, 28 Jun 1999 12:52:04 +0200 (MET DST) Received: from wiggins.techfak.uni-kiel.de (wiggins [134.245.242.21]) by hope.techfak.uni-kiel.de (8.8.8/8.8.8) with SMTP id MAA02321 for ; Mon, 28 Jun 1999 12:51:45 +0200 (MET DST) Received: from localhost by wiggins.techfak.uni-kiel.de (SMI-8.6/client-1.6-SunOS5) id MAA08014; Mon, 28 Jun 1999 12:51:47 +0200 Date: Mon, 28 Jun 1999 12:51:46 +0200 (MET DST) From: Norbert Roeschmann X-Sender: nr@wiggins To: freebsd-java@FreeBSD.org Subject: subscribe Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org | \ ||\\ Chair for Semiconductor Engineering ||\\||// Norbert Roeschmann Technical Faculty || \ |\\ nr@techfak.uni-kiel.de Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-java Mon Jun 28 10:22:47 1999 Delivered-To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Received: from bubba.whistle.com (s205m7.whistle.com [207.76.205.7]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9251814F19 for ; Mon, 28 Jun 1999 10:22:44 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from archie@whistle.com) Received: (from archie@localhost) by bubba.whistle.com (8.9.2/8.9.2) id KAA60750 for freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG; Mon, 28 Jun 1999 10:22:44 -0700 (PDT) From: Archie Cobbs Message-Id: <199906281722.KAA60750@bubba.whistle.com> Subject: Re: Producing libgcj-2.95 In-Reply-To: <199906271825.LAA55932@bubba.whistle.com> from Archie Cobbs at "Jun 27, 99 11:25:18 am" To: freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Date: Mon, 28 Jun 1999 10:22:44 -0700 (PDT) X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4ME+ PL38 (25)] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Archie Cobbs writes: > FYI- > This was sent to the java-discuss@sourceware.cygnus.com mailing list.. > > Warren Levy writes: > > Platform porting status and current current notes are posted at: > > > > .
