Anyone know any more? pretty stuffed at the moment.. i look after ftp.au.freebsd.org.. and it's been very tough to keep a decent freebsd archive up to date, both in terms of disk space, but also because of lack of mirror support, e.g no rsync and no advance mirroring possible for major releases. a number (most?) official freebsd archives are mirroring part or all of their content from us at the moment. from what sort of domains are you seeing the connections ? regards, -jason To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-hubs Wed Nov 22 2: 3: 4 2000 Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from ducky.nz.freebsd.org (ns1.unixathome.org [203.79.82.27]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 23C5137B4CF for ; Wed, 22 Nov 2000 02:02:58 -0800 (PST) Received: from wocker (wocker.int.nz.freebsd.org [192.168.0.99]) by ducky.nz.freebsd.org (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id XAA91820; Wed, 22 Nov 2000 23:02:54 +1300 (NZDT) Message-Id: <200011221002.XAA91820@ducky.nz.freebsd.org> From: "Dan Langille" Organization: langille.org To: jason andrade Date: Wed, 22 Nov 2000 23:02:53 +1300 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Subject: Re: how's the OZ servers? Just two domains actually. one from .com.au and one from .net.au but they've both gone elsewhere after I asked them to refrain from using international traffic from cvsup.nz.freebsd.org. I asked one about what was going on, was there a problem with the .au servers. They said yes, basically either unavailable or slow. -- Dan Langille The FreeBSD Diary - http://www.freebsddiary.org/ NZ Broadband mailing list - http://www.unixathome.org/broadband/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-hubs Wed Nov 22 2:54:46 2000 Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from piglet.dstc.edu.au (piglet.dstc.edu.au [130.102.176.1]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E142B37B4C5 for ; Wed, 22 Nov 2000 02:54:42 -0800 (PST) Received: from azure.dstc.edu.au (azure.dstc.edu.au [130.102.176.27]) by piglet.dstc.edu.au (8.10.1/8.10.1) with ESMTP id eAMAsKc14611; Wed, 22 Nov 2000 20:54:20 +1000 (EST) Date: Wed, 22 Nov 2000 20:54:37 +1000 (EST) From: jason andrade To: Dan Langille Cc: freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: how's the OZ servers? Keep in mind that regular use of CVSup has an unbalanced traffic profile, so depending on how you pay for your connectivity, it may not actually cost server operators anything. (Indeed, some ISPs could probably make money on settlements by running CVSup servers.) -GAWollman -- Garrett A. Anyone know any more? cvsup3.au apparently has been having hardware problems and has been down for testing/maintenance for a few days.
