INetU provides managed hosting services for FreeBSD, Lunix, and Microsoft Windows NT servers. FreeBSD and Unix candidates should be familiar with the Internet and TCP/IP networking, and should have a complete understanding of common Internet technologies such as HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP, telnet and ssh. Proactive network management skills and basic security knowledge, including watching for and applying vendor patches, are a must. All candidates must have excellent diagnostic abilities and problem solving skills. Experience with IBM PC hardware and network cabling skills a plus. This position involves a moderate degree of customer interaction. Prior customer service or support background a plus. Required Skills: For FreeBSD & Unix Candidates should have a minimum of three years experience working with the following: * Installation, configuration, and administration of FreeBSD versions 2.2.8 or greater, including configuring and compiling custom kernels. * Installation and maintenance of a large DNS system with ISC BIND 8. * Customization and compilation of Apache 1.3.x with various DSO modules such as PHP, mod_perl, Apache JServ, Tomcat, RavenSSL or open_ssl, and FrontPage Server Extensions. Understanding of the suexec CGI wrapper. * Ability to customize and install sendmail according to varied needs. * Use of sendmail's m4 FEATUREs for configuration. * Network management and upkeep including CAT-5 cabling. * Configuration of Drawbridge or IPFW including configuration of firewall rule sets. * Scripting with bash, sh, sed, or awk. * Fluency with C an absolute requirement, ability to customize and recompile command line tools highly desired. Exposure or familiarity with the any of the following a plus: * Linux or Solaris administration. * Cisco 3200 or 7200 series and basic routing via Cisco IOS. * Cyrus-SASL and SMTP Authentication. * Configuration and administration of file servers running samba. * Design and implementation of customized FreeBSD installation scripts.
