Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Hello, I have installed the linux-jdk13 port and have had no luck getting the java executable to run without dumping core. I noticed that the realpath executable that the .java_wrapper utilizes to resolve symlinks does not work either. Is there something special that needs to be installed to make this work? The machine is running a fresh 4.2-RELEASE installation CVSUP'd to 4.2-STABLE. I have another machine that is a 4.1-RELEASE install CVSUP'd to 4.2-STABLE, and have experienced nothing but success running the Linux 1.3.0 JDK (or any other jdk for that matter). I have altered the jvm.cfg file to ensure that -classic is at the top of the list, but that has been no help either. Has anyone else run into this sort of thing? It wouldn't help us much, because most of the native Java efforts (the porting side) are focused on the threading model in the Mach micro-kernel, and they use very little 'FreeBSD' code in their port. (Or so I've heard from people 'in the know'....) Apple's Java port is more 'Mach-centric' rather than FreeBSD-centric. First, the plugin seems to ignore the setting of the ${JRE}/lib/jvm.cfg file, and defaults to use -hotspot when run from the browser. Is there a way to make it use -classic, so it works correctly? Second, after following the installation instructions for the Java 1.3.0 plugin and adding the NPX_PLUGIN_PATH environment variable to the script that starts netscape, my other plugins (flash, etc) are no longer available. Is this a known problem, or did I miss configure something? Thanks for any help.
