Nope just one. The RC1 and -stable packages are the same. > is packages-*-stable still being rebuilt weekly ? The builds are happening on an almost daily basis actually. I've just been holding off on updating the packages until the next RC came out. That way we don't have two copies of the same set of packages. After the release goes out and we want to preserve the package set for the release the packages-4.5-release symlink will become a directory with the contents of the then current packages-4-stable directory and packages for the -stable branch will be put in packages-4-stable directory as new sets are built. -steve To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-hubs Sun Jan 13 22:43:33 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from camelot.spsl.nsc.ru (camelot.spsl.nsc.ru [194.226.174.80]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 84B8D37B404 for ; Sun, 13 Jan 2002 22:43:23 -0800 (PST) Received: (from root@localhost) by camelot.spsl.nsc.ru (8.11.6/8.11.6) id g0E6hD133542 for hubs@freebsd.org.AVP; Mon, 14 Jan 2002 12:43:13 +0600 (NOVT) (envelope-from fjoe@iclub.nsu.ru) Received: from iclub.nsu.ru (root@iclub.nsu.ru [193.124.222.66]) by camelot.spsl.nsc.ru (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id g0E6hAJ33534 for ; Mon, 14 Jan 2002 12:43:13 +0600 (NOVT) (envelope-from fjoe@iclub.nsu.ru) Received: (from fjoe@localhost) by iclub.nsu.ru (8.11.6/8.11.6) id g0E6hCl91780 for hubs@freebsd.org; Mon, 14 Jan 2002 12:43:12 +0600 (NS) (envelope-from fjoe) Date: Mon, 14 Jan 2002 12:43:11 +0600 From: Max Khon To: hubs@freebsd.org Subject: ru.freebsd.org Message-ID: <20020114124311.A91745@iclub.nsu.ru> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.2.5i Sender: owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org hi, there! I deleted the RC1 cdboot image because it is no longer needed. We are not going with cdboot, and so there will be no more cdboot images for the RCs. I kept the plain RC1 image around in case anyone wants to verify a regression in correctness from RC1 to RC2. However, I've just deleted this image from ftp-master -- users can still find the RC1 image on releng4.freebsd.org if they need it. The Alpha announcements generally go just to the freebsd-alpha mailing list. Wilko Bulte is currently working on building the Alpha RC2 snapshot right now, and I will assist as much as I can to get this out within the next day or two. We still do not have access to the Alpha ports cluster, so there will not be packages for RC2 / Alpha. - Murray To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-hubs Fri Jan 18 8:29:47 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from capncrunch.cslab.vt.edu (capncrunch.cslab.vt.edu [198.82.184.95]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 22A0637B404; Fri, 18 Jan 2002 08:29:41 -0800 (PST) Received: by capncrunch.cslab.vt.edu (Postfix, from userid 11232) id BC45B99718; Fri, 18 Jan 2002 11:29:36 -0500 (EST) Subject: Re: Please let me know.. In principle, I agree with you, but...: > unless of course you are actually trying to test the CD creation > process (including the package tree) as well as the actual 4.5 OS > release.. I still think packages from CDs need to be tested for at least one RC because we've occasionally seen strange problems with them before due to the way CDs were handled by sysinstall. -- wca To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-hubs Sat Jan 19 1:55:48 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from mao.stokely.org (mao.stokely.org [65.84.64.228]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0D1E037B41C; Sat, 19 Jan 2002 01:55:46 -0800 (PST) Received: by mao.stokely.org (Postfix, from userid 2074) id 1DFDA4B65D; Sat, 19 Jan 2002 01:55:45 -0800 (PST) Date: Sat, 19 Jan 2002 01:55:45 -0800 From: Murray Stokely To: jason andrade Cc: Murray Stokely , hubs@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: Please let me know.. We really want users to test the package set along with the release. We provide snapshots for users who are only interested in testing that their hardware works with a certain new feature. The release candidates are exactly that, and they are meant to allow our users to provide input into the final packaging that will make up the release. We've had significant problems with the interaction between our installation tools and package set in the past, so this suggests to me that we need more QA testing of full releases + package sets, not less. - Murray --E0GpUEom8qu4+vDz Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (SunOS) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8SUKgtNcQog5FH30RAkIXAJwIBuL0Q5826iOOzsO1Hh58XH9X1gCfcrJb MZcgOkcygGIZy2VHvajX7qw= =UiAs -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --E0GpUEom8qu4+vDz-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-hubs Sat Jan 19 23:57: 5 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from ursa.neonatus.net (clj1-49.dial-up.arnes.si [194.249.36.49]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0C5D737B400 for ; Sat, 19 Jan 2002 23:57:03 -0800 (PST) Received: by ursa.neonatus.net ("Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Service 5.5.2448.0", from userid 1011) id EB3F52256; Sun, 20 Jan 2002 08:56:59 +0100 (CET) Date: Sun, 20 Jan 2002 08:56:58 +0100 To: hubs@freebsd.org Subject: becoming a mirror Message-ID: <20020120075657.GA17503@neonatus.net> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.3.25i From: dupli@neonatus.net (Damir Horvat) Sender: owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Hi! I work for ISP in Slovenia, Voljatel d.d. (www.voljatel.si, www.volja.net). We have more than 40 freebsd servers, working on almost every peace of HW we have. Since I don't have much free time, is there a written procedure, or something, for doing such things? In other words, what's the easyest way of doing that?
