The only ones that I know of that would be easy to translate are nvi, tcsh, and ee. I've been thinking about implementing a GNU/Solaris style gettext() library and converting the utilities to use that but haven't had the time or energy to do it yet. I'm get in touch with a lot of french users who want to switch from *Soft or Linux to a good stable system. I said FreeBSD but a lot said me Yes, but there is no good install systeme in french ? I'm very interesst to help to do a good program and help maintain it. Some time ago I've been in touch with jkh@ who have said that he begin a new framework but I've not seen anything on this in the new project/plan for the next releases. But What I thinking is to integrate this in the FreeBSD CVS tree.... So This is why I talk about a re-thinking of systinstall, to be perhaps more maintainable across new FreeBSD version with localised version. > capable of using the simple sysinstall because its in English then how can > they read man pages and FreeBSD handbook etc. then use FreeBSD after its > installed, unless they want to use it as workstation in which KDE etc. has > localizations ready. Yes too. Just If you do new install system, you could automaticly do this with a choose of the language in the boot...
