I'm trying to install postgresql-jdbc from ports, and the dependency that I'm failing on is the jdk 1.2.2. I understand the message, that Sun want me to register and agree to their license prior to downloading from them. But I can't find the required source file anywhere! I registered. Am I reading this wrong?: jdk1_2_2-src.tar.gz I searched Sun's site and could find no reference to this particular file. The download section didn't list it anywhere. Obviously, it's not available from anyone but Sun, which I wouldn't mind except that I can't figure out where to get it from Sun. Any help on this is appreciated. Am I missing something here that should have been obvious? Everything I'm reading tells me that I should download this file from Sun to get things rolling, yet I can't seem to find it on Sun's site. -- Bill Moran Potential Technologies http://www.potentialtech.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-java Sun Sep 22 15:44: 7 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-java@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.FreeBSD.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7282737B401; Sun, 22 Sep 2002 15:44:06 -0700 (PDT) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.FreeBSD.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 25ECC43E6A; Sun, 22 Sep 2002 15:44:06 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from glewis@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (glewis@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.6/8.12.6) with ESMTP id g8MMi5Co013622; Sun, 22 Sep 2002 15:44:05 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from glewis@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from glewis@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.6/8.12.6/Submit) id g8MMi5Hl013615; Sun, 22 Sep 2002 15:44:05 -0700 (PDT) Date: Sun, 22 Sep 2002 15:44:05 -0700 (PDT) From: Greg Lewis Message-Id: <200209222244.g8MMi5Hl013615@freefall.freebsd.org> To: ibtesam_83@yahoo.com, glewis@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-java@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: java/43236: relation between "submit" and my E-mail. I'm certainly not having any problem downloading it. I see it now. The first "download" link is for Linux binaries, while the second one is for the source. While I can't deny that I was being a little stupid, Sun could easily make it a little easier to understand. Unfortunatelly effort is stalled now. I have started back in August porting based on linux hotspot sources, but there are a lot of differences in (primarily) stack management between FreeBSD pthread and LinuxThreads. After spending of unreasonable period of time in attempt to rewrite stack management I had to stop and switch to Solaris source base. Switch was succesfuly done in begining of September - no one of previously existent linux problems appeared, but instead I got few very specific problems with signals there. Deep kernel signalling and libc_r signals handling and talk to Daniel shown that this scheme (solaris based) will not work for -STABLE 100% correctly (it worked somehow after some hackery) until {get,set}context() functions are MFCed (along with other stuff). I have hoped to get a testing machine to setup -CURRENT last week and continue, but still not have it :-( To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-java" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-java Wed Sep 25 15:20:18 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.FreeBSD.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6714037B401 for ; Wed, 25 Sep 2002 15:20:17 -0700 (PDT) Received: from chen.org.nz (chen.org.nz [210.54.19.51]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8A13143E6A for ; Wed, 25 Sep 2002 15:20:16 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from jonc@chen.org.nz) Received: from grimoire.chen.org.nz (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by chen.org.nz (8.12.6/8.12.6) with ESMTP id g8PMK5ox005422 for ; Thu, 26 Sep 2002 10:20:05 +1200 (NZST) (envelope-from jonc@grimoire.chen.org.nz) Received: (from jonc@localhost) by grimoire.chen.org.nz (8.12.6/8.12.6/Submit) id g8PMK5ds005421 for freebsd-java@freebsd.org; Thu, 26 Sep 2002 10:20:05 +1200 (NZST) Date: Thu, 26 Sep 2002 10:20:05 +1200 From: Jonathan Chen To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Subject: open-motif-2.2.2 and jdk1.3.1p7 Message-ID: <20020925222005.GA5391@grimoire.chen.org.nz> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.4i Sender: owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Hi, I recently portupgraded to open-motif-2.2.2 and have been getting lots of warnings when I run Swing applications under jdk1.3.1p7. eg: Warning: translation table syntax error: Unknown keysym name: osfActivate Warning: ... found while parsing ':osfActivate: ManagerParentActivate()' Warning: String to TranslationTable conversion encountered errors Warning: translation table syntax error: Unknown keysym name: osfBeginLine Warning: ... found while parsing ':osfBeginLine: ManagerGadgetTraverseHome()' Warning: String to TranslationTable conversion encountered errors Warning: translation table syntax error: Unknown keysym name: osfHelp [...] Anyone else seen this? Check if that still exists. Are you having problems with other Motif programs? The older port of open-motif overwrites some X keybindings (I can't remember which file exactly); this means that if you upgrade XFree86-4, the original keybinding config file is restored - and you get the errors. I deinstalled every X related ports, including XFree86-* themselves, and reinstall them from ports. Except that I grab an open-motif-2.1.30_3 from CVS repo and install it exclusively. applet/jfc/swing/etc.. still doesn't work. I checked ports commit log, It looks like 2002-08-01 should be a safe date for the old open-motif. (cvs co -D '2002-08-01' -P open-motif) I would like to provide thread dump if anyone wants it.
