Just so you know, I've not forgotten this and have gotten far enough to have to reinstall my alpha -stable 4100 . I've a test merge of the backport of 1.78 plus others that I'm testing tonight && tomorrow. All of you: drop me some mail if you want to help testing this in -stable with your tape drives before I commit it.
