Hmm, for some reason I am having real issues trying to build world with this thing. I updated to the latest kernel to get support for the quad fp load and stores but was still getting signal 4's. I figured I needed the updated user trap code in libc to deal with this, but when I built a newer libc.so.5, then all the programs that used the dynamic libc freaked out with: /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libgcc_s.so.1" not found /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libgcc_s.so.1" not found /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libgcc_s.so.1" not found Good thing I kept libc.so.5.old around or I wouldn't have a usable system right now. :( Looking at the libgcc stuff in the tree, it's all using the 2.95.x sources still, so I figure I don't have a chance of building a proper libgcc_s.so.1 myself. Does anyone have a copy or is something really bad hosed? -- John Baldwin <>< http://www.FreeBSD.org/~jhb/ "Power Users Use the Power to Serve!" - http://www.FreeBSD.org/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-sparc" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-sparc Mon Apr 29 12:31: 5 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-sparc@freebsd.org Received: from dragon.nuxi.com (trang.nuxi.com [66.92.13.169]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 357A637B404; Mon, 29 Apr 2002 12:31:00 -0700 (PDT) Received: from dragon.nuxi.com (obrien@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by dragon.nuxi.com (8.12.2/8.12.2) with ESMTP id g3TJUxYm078885; Mon, 29 Apr 2002 12:30:59 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from obrien@dragon.nuxi.com) Received: (from obrien@localhost) by dragon.nuxi.com (8.12.3/8.12.2/Submit) id g3TJTgHT078868; Mon, 29 Apr 2002 12:29:42 -0700 (PDT) Date: Mon, 29 Apr 2002 12:29:42 -0700 From: "David O'Brien" To: John Baldwin Cc: sparc64@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: hosted-gcc_20020419.tar.bz2 uploaded Message-ID: <20020429122942.A78794@dragon.nuxi.com> Reply-To: obrien@FreeBSD.org References: <20020420194116.A92671@dragon.nuxi.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.2.5i In-Reply-To: ; from jhb@FreeBSD.org on Mon, Apr 29, 2002 at 01:26:35PM -0400 X-Operating-System: FreeBSD 5.0-CURRENT Organization: The NUXI BSD group X-Pgp-Rsa-Fingerprint: B7 4D 3E E9 11 39 5F A3 90 76 5D 69 58 D9 98 7A X-Pgp-Rsa-Keyid: 1024/34F9F9D5 Sender: owner-freebsd-sparc@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org On Mon, Apr 29, 2002 at 01:26:35PM -0400, John Baldwin wrote: > fp load and stores but was still getting signal 4's. Here's the story in brief: -installed(eventually; it's like some kind of test, isn't it?) from 04/04 iso image -system is up and running on a Ultra 5/333. -something is amiss with networking: -interface works; I can ping machines on my LAN -when I try to communicate with a machine beyond, I get no route to host -so I'm missing something conf wise. -I do have the default router defined in rc.conf I'm sure I'm missing something easy, and yes, I did search the list archives. I mistyped "router" and somehow failed to notice that despite having looked at it half a dozen times. So basically, yes, I had the entry in rc.conf, but it was flat out wrong. Well of course it works fine now. Dang. On a different note, how can I get my hands on cvsup? It doesn't appear to be on the base system, and it's not in the sparc64 packages on ftp.freebsd.org. It's listed in the net category, but the link must be broken or something because I get the "file does not exist" error. I notice as well that the source tarball unpacks into "projects." I wonder if I might trouble someone for a supfile, as an example secondary to the one that comes on the iso.
