It makes sense, it's near like I put WITHOUT_GNOME=no in the /etc/make.conf 
long time ago. But, you are making it much easier and better. :-)

Anyway, I will test your Round 3 diff this evening, it's 4:20am here. I 
don't see any of problem with Round 2 that I tested today, when I let 
portupgrade to update stuff.
