I have here two active ISDN cards AVM B1 4.0 PCI. The hylafax fax software seems to need CAPI2.0 for fax delivery. Can this be realised with FreeBSD? Or do I need to switch to Linux as AVM offers a CAPI for Linux but not for FreeBSD :( Getting the cards to work is no problem, but as I do not need a dial-in solution I'm not sure.. Yes. The AVM Fritz!PCI version 2 (version 2 has been out a long time, you're unlikely to find any version 1 left at retail). 'ifpi2' driver. If you're thinking "Soekris net4501", that's the configuration I used. The +5V requirement of the card is at the limit of what the on-board linear regulator can provide; in my application I used an external +5V supply (as there was other stuff needing +5V too), but it did work off the on-board supply when I first tested it. Other options include boards based on the Cologne Chip Design HFC chip; I have an "ASUS ISDNLINK 128K model P-IN100-ST-D" which uses this chip and is definitely a 3V3 card, but I don't know what driver support is like (the 'ihfc' driver hadn't been committed when I got this card, and I haven't tested it since). I could give it a test if this card is of particular interest. Regards, Andrew Gordon. The base is my work in CAPI for BSD (or c4b). This is a CAPI 2.0 implementation for FreeBSD, providing an application and controller driver interface. Currently the only driver available handles the active boards from AVM (B1, C2, C4, T1, the last is completely untested). A version for 4.6-RELEASE and 4.7-RELEASE is available at . A version for 5.x is in its test phase. If the tests pass successfully, the 5.x version will be added to current and so became part of FreeBSD. The next step is to port capi4hylafax to FreeBSD. To my knowledge this work is currently done by . I don't known the current state of this work. I hope this information helps a little bit.
