I loaded 5.2.1 on ok (except I think CDROM is dodgy, it keeps wanting to spit CDROM out but eventually got it too work.) Did not have much chance to test to day. Basically seems ok, it recognized the two CPU's, the network conection was fine at 100Mb/s. Build world took 27 mins. 2 disks appear to be mirrored at bios level. Only problem is halt or reboot hangs after 'vnlru waiting 60s max' message. Will rebuild to later (and latest) src tomorrow. This box is an older demo model but should be representative. -- tonym From owner-freebsd-amd64@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Apr 19 10:26:25 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 608A216A4CF for ; Mon, 19 Apr 2004 10:26:25 -0700 (PDT) Received: from TRANG.nuxi.com (trang.nuxi.com [66.93.134.19]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2490443D45 for ; Mon, 19 Apr 2004 10:26:25 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from obrien@NUXI.com) Received: from dragon.nuxi.com (obrien@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by TRANG.nuxi.com (8.12.11/8.12.10) with ESMTP id i3JHQOnv043193; Mon, 19 Apr 2004 10:26:24 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from obrien@dragon.nuxi.com) Received: (from obrien@localhost) by dragon.nuxi.com (8.12.11/8.12.11/Submit) id i3JHQNLf043192; Mon, 19 Apr 2004 10:26:23 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from obrien) Date: Mon, 19 Apr 2004 10:26:23 -0700 From: "David O'Brien" To: Tony Maher Message-ID: <20040419172622.GB67871@dragon.nuxi.com> References: <200404191205.i3JC5UdM080112@k9.a1.asic.gov.au> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <200404191205.i3JC5UdM080112@k9.a1.asic.gov.au> User-Agent: Mutt/1.4.1i X-Operating-System: FreeBSD 5.2-CURRENT Organization: The NUXI BSD Group X-Pgp-Rsa-Fingerprint: B7 4D 3E E9 11 39 5F A3 90 76 5D 69 58 D9 98 7A X-Pgp-Rsa-Keyid: 1024/34F9F9D5 cc: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Sun V20z X-BeenThere: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list Reply-To: freebsd-amd64@freebsd.org List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the AMD64 platform List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 19 Apr 2004 17:26:25 -0000 On Mon, Apr 19, 2004 at 10:05:30PM +1000, Tony Maher wrote: > 2 disks appear to be mirrored at bios level. I finally got my Clawhammer eval box from AMD running again, and popped FreeBSD 5-CURRENT on it. I've been successfully building world and kernel, then installing and rebooting same. I seem to get the "lock order reversal" on the 2nd buildworld. The following one is from a build+install from Saturday.
