Haven't done much digging yet, but it keeps stopping on mod_perl. It appears that mod_perl is the only real problem, so I compiled and installed mod_perl2 without issue, however when I go back to slash to make it, it goes back to trying to install mod_perl (1). Shouldn't I be able to use mod_perl2 regardless and bypass this issue? At any rate, if you are unable to reproduce this, please advise and I will be happy to provide all information necessary and work with you through this. Thanks much! -George From owner-freebsd-apache@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Sep 5 05:59:20 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-apache@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8DC1B16A4CE for ; Sun, 5 Sep 2004 05:59:20 +0000 (GMT) Received: from utopia.in.force-elite.com (force-elite.com [216.255.199.145]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1B64E43D48 for ; Sun, 5 Sep 2004 05:59:20 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from chip@force-elite.com) X-AuthUser: chip@force-elite.com Received: from [10.10.10.101] (199.5.172.2:47935)Server] id for from ; Sat, 04 Sep 2004 22:59:18 -0700 From: Paul Querna To: apache@FreeBSD.org Content-Type: text/plain Date: Sun, 05 Sep 2004 00:02:29 -0600 Message-Id: <1094364149.29415.38.camel@localhost> Mime-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Evolution 1.5.92.1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: 2.0 -> 2.2 X-BeenThere: freebsd-apache@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Support of apache-related ports List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 05 Sep 2004 05:59:20 -0000 I don't believe any plans are 100% set in stone yet, but many of the committers(including me) from Apache would like to make a new stable 2.2 branch this fall. (Likely during ApacheCon, November 13-17). This release has lots of cool new features (And, I don't want to write a summary document right now...), but my main question is for the FreeBSD Ports, will you shift the main Apache2 port to the 2.2 branch, or will you create a separate httpd-2.2 port? Here's my plan: - After the freeze I'll commit apache21 port (repocopied ~10 monthes ago) to make some test on modules building, etc. - Makefile.modules.3rd will be renamed to bsd.apache.mk - all modules will be renamed in pkg-src way. i.e. ap- for 1.3 modules ap2- for 2.0.x etc... - Introduce support for 2.X > 2.0.x in bsd.apache.mk As mat said, apache2 will be repocopied to apache20 when bsd.apache.mk appears. Threaded MPM support will be discountinued for 4.x with apache>2.1, since libc_r sucks ;). I'd be happy if you can provide us a short list of incompatibilities between apache2 and apache 2.1/2.2, so I can integrate these changes in my plan quickly. clem From owner-freebsd-apache@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Sep 5 09:16:05 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-apache@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 490D116A4CE for ; Sun, 5 Sep 2004 09:16:05 +0000 (GMT) Received: from goofy.cultdeadsheep.org (charon.cultdeadsheep.org [80.65.226.72]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 875A243D1D for ; Sun, 5 Sep 2004 09:16:02 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from sheepkiller@cultdeadsheep.org) Received: (qmail 10855 invoked by uid 89); 5 Sep 2004 11:15:59 +0200 Received: from sheepkiller@cultdeadsheep.org by goofy.cultdeadsheep.org by uid 89 with qmail-scanner-1.22 (clamdscan: 0.74. spamassassin: 2.63.
