Often USB DSL modems also have ethernet ports as an additional or alternative way to connect to the modem. If your DSL modem(s) do not have ethernet and require USB, you'll need to connect the modem to a computer with drivers available, e.g. Windows. You could use Windows' internet connection sharing (ICS) to then share the connection, though I think you might find ICS reliablity poor enough to decide to get a DSL modem with an ethernet port :) Dave Hart From owner-freebsd-isp@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Sep 6 10:58:35 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D01D016A4CF for ; Mon, 6 Sep 2004 10:58:35 +0000 (GMT) Received: from mail.act.co.za (mail.act.co.za [196.15.213.131]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 390D043D46 for ; Mon, 6 Sep 2004 10:58:33 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from spidey@act.co.za) Received: from localhost.act.co.za ([127.0.0.1] helo=localhost) by mail.act.co.za with esmtp (Exim 4.24; FreeBSD 5.0) id 1C4HIS-000B8D-3g for FreeBSD-isp@freebsd.org; Mon, 06 Sep 2004 13:04:28 +0200 Received: from mail.act.co.za ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (mail.act.co.za [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 42609-06 for ; Mon, 6 Sep 2004 13:04:26 +0200 (SAST) Received: from [10.0.1.11] (helo=SPIDEY) by mail.act.co.za with esmtp (Exim 4.24; FreeBSD 5.0) id 1C4HIQ-000B7y-TK for FreeBSD-isp@freebsd.org; Mon, 06 Sep 2004 13:04:26 +0200 From: "Spidey Knepscheld" To: Date: Mon, 6 Sep 2004 12:58:25 +0200 Organization: ACT Computers Message-ID: <000001c49400$70634000$0b01000a@SPIDEY> MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Priority: 3 (Normal) X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook, Build 10.0.2627 Importance: Normal X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1441 X-Virus-Scanned: by amavisd-new at act.co.za Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.1 Subject: Virus Trouble X-BeenThere: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list Reply-To: spidey@act.co.za List-Id: Internet Services Providers List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 06 Sep 2004 10:58:35 -0000 Hi Guys My entire FreeBSD show has been upgraded over the weekend and the new mail scanner Clam picks up Worm.SomeFool.P on and internal user I did try the Netsky fix but it was not able to detect anything and idea on how to get rid of it Spidey
