We're working on a distributed network monitoring application, with BSD appliances collecting data, central statistical aggregation, web interface and report generation. The existing codebase is C and C++ (userland, no kernel programming involved yet), the web interface might eventually involve some client-side code (either Java/C# or a native binary GUI). The ideal candidate would have several years of experience with C programming on Unix (BSD/Posix), including network programming (TCP/IP, protocol design) and at least basic understanding of statistics (not necessarily a math degree) and distributed systems. A work permit could probably be arranged, but we're looking for someone who could start to work in Baar as early as possibly (2-4 months from now). While the company project is closed-source, participation in Open Source projects is actively encouraged (10-30% of paid working time average, in my experience). If you're interested, you can contact me directly by email or phone (mail for number) or talk to the CTO: Junisphere Systems AG c/o Markus Schmid Sihlbruggstrasse 109 6340 Baar Switzerland mschmid@junisphere.net http://www.junisphere.net/ Daniel From owner-freebsd-jobs@FreeBSD.ORG Fri May 21 12:10:18 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-jobs@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 69C6916A4CE for ; Fri, 21 May 2004 12:10:18 -0700 (PDT) Received: from bcsmtp2.bendcable.com (bcsmtp2.bendcable.com [216.228.160.32]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 47DB843D2D for ; Fri, 21 May 2004 12:10:18 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from stonini@mtrgroup.net) Received: from suzy (unverified [216.228.168.218]) by bc-smtp for ; Fri, 21 May 2004 12:07:12 -0700 From: "Suzanne Tonini" To: Date: Fri, 21 May 2004 12:09:56 -0700 Organization: MTR Inc Message-ID: <114801c43f67$346badf0$0300a8c0@suzy> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 (Normal) X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook, Build 10.0.4024 Importance: Normal X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1409 Subject: Wanted: Senior, Experienced Unix Kernel Developer/Architect X-BeenThere: freebsd-jobs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list Reply-To: stonini@mtrgroup.net List-Id: Jobs offered and sought List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 21 May 2004 19:10:18 -0000 Senior, Experienced Unix Kernel Developer/Architect Our client, a storage startup based in the greater Seattle area, has developed a Unified SAN+NAS storage controller and software for Storage Consolidation and Rapid Recovery from data disasters.
