Well, bento seems to build openoffice fine (at least it's not reported as a broken build) http://bento.freebsd.org/errorlogs/i386-5-failure.html I have some free time. How do I get a tarball of the openoffice port for versions 1.1.0_1 and 1.1.0_2. I went to cvsweb.freebsd.org, but can't find options to download tarballs by port versions. One of the patches in files/ (patch-config_office) tells the build to link against -lc_r on 5.X. Changing that behaviour to -lpthread fixes the problem. I've been unable to make any headway on getting openoffice@ to agree to fix this problem, with something about it would have to go to the openoffice authors..... to fix a FreeBSD-supplied patch....... I gave up. But, the OO build *is* fixable, but it's up to the users to apply the fix themselves, I guess. # Adam -- Adam Weinberger adam@vectors.cx // adamw@FreeBSD.org // adamw@magnesium.net http://www.vectors.cx From owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Feb 20 21:22:08 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 54A4C16A4CE for ; Fri, 20 Feb 2004 21:22:08 -0800 (PST) Received: from lysander.inspired.net.au (lysander.inspired.net.au [203.132.226.50]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2628C43D2F for ; Fri, 20 Feb 2004 21:22:08 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from gautam@inspired.net.au) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by lysander.inspired.net.au (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9B6032380C2; Sat, 21 Feb 2004 16:22:05 +1100 (EST) Received: from lysander.inspired.net.au ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (lysander [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10025) with ESMTP id 13296-06; Sat, 21 Feb 2004 16:22:05 +1100 (EST) Received: from madras.dyndns.org (dsl-137.241.240.220.dsl.comindico.com.au [220.240.241.137]) by lysander.inspired.net.au (Postfix) with SMTP id EB6B8238048; Sat, 21 Feb 2004 16:22:04 +1100 (EST) Date: Sat, 21 Feb 2004 16:19:25 +1100 From: Gautam Gopalakrishnan To: Jeremy Messenger Message-Id: <20040221161925.4fb1989c.gautam@inspired.net.au> In-Reply-To: References: <20040221030343.1f0ce596.gautam@inspired.net.au> <20040220171144.GA33739@xor.obsecurity.org> <20040221134822.60862fc2.gautam@inspired.net.au> <20040221031220.GA41039@xor.obsecurity.org> <20040221143825.4ec73b52.gautam@inspired.net.au> X-Mailer: Sylpheed version 0.9.9 (GTK+ 1.2.10; i386-portbld-freebsd5.2) Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Virus-Scanned: by amavisd-new-20030616-p5 (Debian) at inspired.net.au cc: kris@obsecurity.org cc: openoffice@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Openoffice 1.1 not building X-BeenThere: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting OpenOffice to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sat, 21 Feb 2004 05:22:08 -0000 On Fri, 20 Feb 2004 22:59:29 -0600 Jeremy Messenger wrote: > Want the package instead? Since we check USE_GCC inside the openoffice port for the correct values and set CXX=${CXX} CC=${CC} depending on OS-version, I don't see why it is completly wrong. Of course I can also rename it to HAVE_GCC or something like this. OOO build is broken with severall OS GCC versions, and with severall port GCC version, so we definitly need to check which gcc we have to use for which OS-version.
